I am adding product to one of my Shops this morning and when I open an already uploaded image from my IMAGES folder in the design tool to place my design on the product - - - The ZAZZLE overlay is shown on my image! This is an image which is on many products in my Shop and has been in my Images Folder for years. The Denim jackets are relatively new and I felt this image would be great on them. Thus I am working them into my inventory.
Screenshot:
This entire images is a line of 5 dogs and the ZAZZLE OVERLAY is all the way across the entire image I have enlarged it on the Tool, for this display - now, may I just say that the overlay does not seem to be shown on the Product when I enlarge that, but can I trust that it will not PRINT that ZAZZLE overlay as displayed - and we end up with a very dissatisfied customer!?
I appreciate that the Overlay is for my protection from image thieves, but is it necessary to have a protective Overlay on the images in our own working files! No need to try and protect images if someone has hacked that far into a shop, at that point the invaders would go for the payment information and let the images lay where they are!!!
Thank you!

the reason the watermark appears is that you have that option turned on in your store settings so it will show the watermark as standard
It's under advanced settings under design transfer
edited as I didn't fully read - thought you were talking about the gridlines but left it here just in case anyone else need to know how to turn gridlines on/off
Turn them off by pressing the Guidelines/Gridlines buttons at the top of the design tool

Checking more images, and everything (353 images) in that folder has the OVERLAY - so far (out of 12,000+ total IMAGES in my folders).
This is the only place I've noticed the Overlay - the images in other folders which I worked from yesterday (200 new products uploaded this week) did NOT show the ZAZZLE overlay while I worked at setting up the designs. These images have been in my folders, as I said, since 2009, 2010, 2012 etc.

Even when you have the overlay turned off, it will nevertheless show up periodically on artwork with transparency. The overlay doesn't show up when you place the design on a product--assuming you have the feature turned off.

Thank you, Sara_H. I do appreciate your solution! I turned OFF the watermark and it has indeed gone away.
I am surprised that it just suddenly "appeared" on the images in my Image Folder, as I WAS aware of the overlay all these years, but only on the Public side of my Shops when one of my designs on product was enlarged.
When I went back to the Images Folder and checked designs I had used just this past week, the overlay was on ALL of them, large and small, transparent and regular images! And it was definitely NOT there earlier, or you all would have seen this post from me on Monday instead of Friday! LOL.

Did you change the display resolution of your current monitor or perhaps get a new one? If you are now viewing things at a higher res it could be triggering the watermark appearing, whereas you didn't see it before. Just a thought.

Thanks, ColsCreations, no, I haven't changed the resolution on my Wacom Tablet, and that is where I have been working. I have 12,000 or so IMAGES uploaded and was going through my best Dogs, putting transparent designs onto the Denim Jackets. . .Working steadily since 7AM, I had made over 100 of the jackets when this happened all at once on Thursday evening, as I think back, there was a "wave" of some sort across the screen and suddenly ALL of my images began to show the Watermark - LOL - at the time, I actually wondered for a second if Zazzle was getting back at me for all the complaining I've been doing in my Forum posts. (I am so frustrated about our Quick Create products being hidden) . . . and really, I am well known as a very nice, happy person . . . Miss Congeniality, that's me.
So I came back to rant again.
Thanks to each of you folks who took the time to answer my pleas for Help. As I read through the Zazzle Settings section on Watermarks, I see that they are generally being discouraged, anyway. Plus, my Dog Paintings are in every Pirate's Shop online, as most of them were uploaded to CP back in the early 2000s before any electronic protection was available for us; so I was happy to simply uncheck that Box and turn the Watermarks off once and for all.
Happy Holidays to All.

Oh, that's interesting. Now it sounds like an anti-theft tactic, like how if you are opening too many tabs too quickly it slows you down by making you verify you're human. Maybe there's an activity level that triggers watermarking to deter unscrupulous behavior.

Yes! It was too much of a coincidence to not have been some response to my pace! Ha! Sometimes, humans CAN surprise the ole' computers. After 20 years at this, I do have some skill at placing designs, and writing descriptions, and tagging for a Dog breed and my paintings that I know SO well. This was in my Maggie Ross Scotties Shop which is my biggest and most successful. I had quite a few designs that featured Scotties & Westies together, so I had just begun adding in some of my Westie designs . . . and BANG!
Well, it is good to know that there are obstacles built into the system to ATTEMPT to deter 'bots.
I've already ticked Sara_H as giving me the SOLUTION, since she helped me get rid of the Watermark, but your clever deduction of the WHY is equally valuable to me! THANK YOU! ColsCreations!
Onward! Ann K.
