How is This Fair?

I just sold two decks of cards for $22.78. It was, of course, another third-party sale (that’s all I get now). My royalty rate is set at a reasonable 10%. I should have earned $2.78 cents. But instead I only received a paltry $1.25.

How is this fair? How can anyone earn even a modest income at this rate?

I am beyond frustrated, angry, and ready to throw in the towel. I’m tired of feeling cheated.

Completely agree. Gross income has dropped around 30-40% from last month prior to the changes (I'm sure more or less for others). Plus, everyone's costs stay the same (or increase if they advertise). Hard to justify the same level of effort going forward for a 30-40% pay cut. Especially considering as some designers may need to supplement that loss or income through additional employment etc. (some have had to already due to general slowdown in sales).

I honestly think the advertisement fees should be more flexible and agree with you they are not fair.  I feel that designers play a crucial role in Zazzle’s success. Our artwork is what turns blank products into unique, sellable items that attract customers.  Without designers’ artwork would Zazzle be successful?    I don’t think the designers should pay the excessive costs for advertisement.   They should share the Ad costs with Zazzle since both benefit from the sale.  But lately with the fees the designers are not benefiting  as we are working harder and earning less.

I came up with flexible advertisement plan…I think this ad plan is fair. What do you think? see it here
