My ID is NOT appearing at all

I am so lost here - first of all it took me 20 minutes to find the forum page.  Why is this now hidden? .....

I am wondering why my ID is not appearing in any links at all.  I am testing new listings old listings - does not matter.  If I create a email link and copy and paste to see what it is or use the create a link option these links are coming up different every single time.  How on earth can this be?  (And please do not tell me I have to clear my cookies because, I have never had to do this to just send a link to someone to VIEW a product!)  It is absolutely ridiculous!  I might as well take this large order I have been working on for over a month and just go to my local print shop and call it a day.  I am just burnt out with it all.  I am not doing another thing on this site until someone explains it or fixes it. Of course it is 50/50 chance I will ever find this forum again as even this is no longer easily accessible and shown in the same location and I am apparently no longer an affiliate but an ambassador? - whatever that means?

Because of the changes to the referral program, your affiliate ID shouldn't appear  in any link you send out for your own products anymore - otherwise you will not earn a self referral - those come from "clean" links only (no referral ID attached). Your affiliate ID will now only appear if you promote someone else's product.

I keep thinking that--maybe--if we add our affiliate ID to a product we're promoting, then we might end up earning referrals and the occasional self-referral rather than the almost consistent "third-party." Is this just me dreaming?

Not sure what you mean - You can add it, but if you do  add your affiliate ID to your own products then you will only be eligible for the smaller percentage... You need the 'clean' link to get a self promotion.
Perhaps I'm lucky enough that Z doesn't actually promote my store much... Oh, I get plenty of 3rd party... but I still get about 1/3rd or 1/4 'none' or 'self'.. even a few self promotions can add up fast and FWIW, I seem to get them on decent sales, rather than only just the person who buys one post card.

So, if you add your ID to a link, and if a person clicks the link directly to your product, and if they go nowhere else before buying your product, you can't get a self-promotion royalty, only a referral if they buy someone else's product?

A link that includes your RF# will earn you 15% on anything the customer buys, whether it's your own product or someone else's. It's the same as it's always worked, it's just now officially being called a "Cross-Promotion Link".

A link without your RF# (now officially called a "Self-Promotion Link", casually referred to as a "clean" link), will earn you the 35-50% rate on your own products and zero on anything else. It doesn't matter what order they view things or even if the product they buy is the same one you linked to or not - you will get the higher "promoter" rate on anything of yours they buy. (This was confirmed in the updated FAQs.)

@ColsCreations

In that case, I'd better edit the links I created on Benable. Thanks for explaining.

Now the only problem is the strange plethora of third parties above what it was before all the changes. That's why I switched to using my ID#, thinking it might combat the intrusions.

How does one opt out of the Ambassador program?????

PenguinPower

You cannot. The Ambassador program has replaced the prior affiliate programs.

Thanks.

@Caprice  @PenguinPower

Actually, yes, you can opt out—-

@Caprice @idraw   Yes, you can opt out and not earn referrals, but you will still be subject to all of the 3rd party and marketing fees.  There is no way to get out of those so there really is no point in opting out unless you don't share links and do not want any referral money yourself.

So let's see if i understand:

A third party sale now for $16.40 at 13.3% earned .98

16.40 * .133 = 2.18

2.18 *.45 (new school/office royalty) = .98  (Before, I would have earned. $1.74)

-----------------------------

If someone buys from Z (no 3rd party, but NO ambassador program) I would earn, what?

So all the numbers above assume being IN the ambassador program?  Because we have determined that one can opt out, right?

So NOT in the Ambassador program, 'none' as referral, I would earn $2.18 ?  For someone who doesn't do a lot of self-promoting, opting out seems better?

You can NOT opt out of the FEES.  Period.  This is an absolute irrefutable fact.  Anyone that wants to promote your products will still get a 15% referral from the sale and Zazzle will get the marketing fee.

You can only opt out of EARNING referral money and being an affiliate or as they call it now "ambassador". If you opt out you will still get 3rd party sales.  You will just be guaranteed to never get a "self" sale.

Then won't earn referrals at all... I took the question to be more of whether it was optional as the in the old system wherein designers were able to chose being a normal affiliate or being in the promotor program.

I asked customer service about opting out, and this is the answer I got:

"The Ambassador Program is now our official and supported referral program. The Promoter 2.0 beta has ended."

What the hell is Promoter 2.0 Beta?

Promoter 2.0 Beta is the old referral system.
