Are people using multiple accounts?

I've been looking over some of my favorite designs from other sellers. What I've noticed is that some of them seem to be going under different names. I'm pretty sure it's the same designer especially since they have the same number of reviews, but every single design that I select has a different seller associated with it. Is this common? If so, why would someone do this?

Not multiple accounts, but you may have multiple stores under your master account. I do it because I'm addressing differing audiences.

Ok. Does it make more sense to create a new store or just create different collections? I've been creating numerous collections, but they all have different concepts. Maybe I should just create another store, no?

I only have one store—a general store where I create products in various categories/niches that I appeal to me and work well with my design style. Having multiple stores would likely require more work.

I wish I had just one well organized store. Having multiple stores like @Jadendreamer13 says requires more work and keeping on top of individual zranks is a pain in the proverbial. (imho)
Create categories/collections for the different events/seasonal/gifts and one brand (store) to cover them all with branded socials etc and you'll be on a winner

Quite a long time ago, I created two extra stores, but for me, it ended up being a constant state of confusion. For instance, I had a pillow store and would end up with questions such as does this Christmas pillow belong in the pillow store or, instead, in my main store in the Christmas catefory? This sort of thing was constant. Additionally, I kept on placing products in the wrong store. Thank goodness I hadn't filled up the extra stores with products because I was able to remake the products in them, place them in the main store, and close the two extra stores.
Think long and hard about it. If, like a number of people here, you know you'll be focusing a lot on specific types of products such as for weddings and are sure you'll stick with them, then multiple stores might make sense. But if you're not sure, and you're a bit fickle with your design interests (like I am), tread carefully. It's easy to have categories and collections carry the weight through all your incarnations.

I have one store, and like to keep it that way. Sometimes I wish I had started a separate wedding store, as now that takes up half my products, but then when I realize how much easier it is to take care of just one store, I'm glad I did it this way. (I actually have another store, that I haven't done anything with. It was a special project, that I didn't end up pursuing. So there's no products in it yet.)

I have 6 stores. One for an organization I belong to (less than 100). My large MAIN store (6,000 plus), and 4 very small niche stores (all under 300-800).
As indicated the MAIN store is the larges with the others a smaller, even when added together.
The small stores help me keep organized, making me devote my time to one niche or the other. Sometimes I place an item in the wrong store (usually the main store). If I catch it immediately, I might re-assign right then and delete the original. Some things fit okay and I leave them where they are.
I have collections that combine elements from multiple stores, so I think I cover all my bases.
