Are Royalty Numbers Accurate or 20% Reduced?

Just saw this flag for the first time. What??
Do you mean my royalty that I carefully curate with these ridiculous prices will only be 80% of the setting? Please clarify.
Is the "Royalty You Will Make" a fake number? How is google marketing not ALREADY built in to the astounding pricing?
Amazon pricing is under 15$ a shirt.

If a sale is reported on your Royalty History as "3rd Party" or "Self", then 20% of the gross royalty is deducted.

In your screenshot above it's showing what you would earn on a non-referred sale ("None").

Here's how it breaks down:

So we have to pay premium prices just for the printing alone which DOES NOT include the marketing that is the only reason a seller would use any free marketing platform? We are paying pure greed plus marketing fees when we could use much cheaper printing partner? The only thing that makes a platform like this a good idea is signal amplify. No other reason to pay any zazzle fees. If marketing is not included in the base price why is it so astronomical? Printing costs double+ anywhere else.

sorry old thread, not sure why I saw this .... hence removed out of date response

The screenshot says 20% is taken off the sale price not the royalty?

20% of the total sales price is for the VAT fee for foreign domains. The referral carve-out is 20% of the gross royalty.
