Why are we now called creators when what we do is design? We do not create the products,. we design them - bugs me.

I prefer designer too, and not just for semantic reasons. Plus, as others have pointed out, if you were a Pro Designer before, that now makes you a Pro Creator. Seems a little sacrilegious.

I have decided to keep using the term Zazzle Designer because Zazzle has never explained why this change was made other than that this would become clear over time. If that ever happens, I may change my nomenclature. Otherwise, not.
I also do Postcrossing!

Maybe Zazzle is going to connect with Apple's Procreate App.

I also continue to refer to myself as "Designer" rather than "Creator". My tag below my name still reads "Pro Designer". Of course, when a customer refers to me as "Creator", I don't try to correct them - just go with the flow!

I am not using it and will never get used to it. I do not create anything, I just copy what The Creator created. Even the makers do not create they just make... Might seem like splitting hairs to some people but not to me.

I've had many people ask me why our collection of designs on products are labeled as a store if we're not actually selling the products. Sometime I think that also confuses customers.... seeing the word store in your URL. I always thought it should be something else like portfolio, etc.

Graphic designers have a tax code, 541400. I couldn't find any code for a "creator" so I used the graphic designer tax code.

Here is one of many questions I receive via chat since we were labeled "creators".
"Hi creator, I have a question about your product: can this be made in a longer length? https://www.zazzle.com/showercurtain."
Of course, I had to explain that I was not a creator but a designer of the product and I did not make the product by hand.

It's just the new marketing buzzword. Not just at Zazzle. I have talked to film editors, software developers etc. They are all "creators" too now. None of them like it either. It takes away a very descriptive title and moves us into a wishy washy non-descript togetherness. I must admit the religious aspect has only come up here, but something to consider.

It definitely I think increases the confusion for customers. Many do not realize this is not like Etsy where we control the production and shipping + with the instant chat it makes them think that even more. I think designer differentiated it a bit more, plus the "email the designer" option instead of the instant chat. When customers emailed me I don't remember getting many or any emails asking about production, errors, or shipping. It was just custom design requests. But now they think they are reaching customer service directly and that adds to confusion.
