Disappearing Downloadables

I have a number of products in my store that are Downloadable enabled. In the back end of the store, it is so indicated. Several days ago the option to download them was available on the product page, Today the ability to download them is gone. Is this something I did or something happening behind the scenes that I don't understand. I want to promote the products, but now I am wondering what to do?

Downloads are just in beta testing and they are not visible to all for purchase yet.  Everything marked as a download IS available for those who can see them.  We are not supposed to advertise them until beta testing is over.

Why is it there one day and gone the next? Is this part of the testing?
