Do some customers not understand downloadables?

I just got a message that has me stumped. It doesn't matter so much what the details are other than that the person is having a party where suddenly more people want to come, and she seems to want me to do something to help that might (or might not) involve rushing off an image to her, possibly the one and only downloadable of that type I have.

Are some of the customers not understanding how downloadables work?

It is pretty common for people to want an enclosure card for directions. I guess she wants you to tuck in something like that on the invite. It also pretty common that people email the digital download, So those products can get done pretty last minute. I am not sure what you were asking on the post. I just took a shot.

You may be correct about what the person wanted, though it's actually hard to say. It was filled with so much nonsense babble that I was at a loss. I wrote back to her asking for clarification on what she wanted, but she never responded, which is just as well.

I usually take a shot at what I think confused customers want and add something like "is this what you were thinking?" I hate to lose sales so I usually have a go. Often it is right and if it isn't it helps them articulate their needs.

I suspect the crux of her problem might have been what is and what isn't downloadable, and maybe she wanted me to transfer the image to a downloadable product, but without an answer to my questions about such things, I could do nothing. I went away confused, and I suspect so did she. Too bad she didn't respond to my reply.

I've been lucky, having never received such a confusing chat message before.
