Dumb Question on Deleting Sold Designs

We're always advised not to delete products that have sold as they help the overall health of our store.

Lets say someone orders 5 of one thing (that hasn't sold before) so your stats for it show All-Time Orders = 1, Item//Quantity Sold = 5. If the order goes pink, I think from past experience that your stats go back to showing zero orders, zero sold. So if an order is canceled it is no longer factored into the stats we can see for that product. But does it still carry any weight for whatever behind-the-scenes algorithms are happenings to determine zRank and MP placement?

Nutshell - Can you delete a product that's sold but then been canceled without any negative effects on your store?

I don't think any of us Zazzlers will know the answer to this outside of speculation BUT I would advise, if you want to delete the item as you feel it doesn't do your store justice, perhaps use the 'replace feature' (if you have it) to revise the design instead of deleting it.

Does it have views? I have to think views count as well, even if there aren't sales as it shows interest; if there aren't sales, update the design or fonts or colors or whatever and do a replace if you're able, update tags, and do a cover or something. Unfortunately no one is able to answer with complete confidence if this or that counts into your zRank or MP. Best guesses are all we can get.
