Editing in the Show Me Forum too short to allow editing

I sometimes need to edit or remove a posting (images of design)  in the Show Me Forum.  I go to edit and because it lasts no longer than the  blink of an eye, I never can accomplish the editing I needed.   I find it so frustrating.  Am I doing something wrong  or is this the same experience others have  with it?

Users have 60 minutes to edit their post. I think this is a sufficient amount of time. The default window was only 30 minutes.

Editing a post has limited value these days because email notifications are sent out the instant you post your original message. I'd recommend using the Preview tool to proofread your post and ensure that the formatting is exactly how you want. The Preview button is in the upper left corner of the text input field (the box you type into when you are posting).

Thank you, Scott for your input.  I wonder though if we are talking about the same thing.  Where I run into a problem is I sometimes have posted to the Show Me forum and tried immediately to correct it and it will not let me.  I do use the preview and have had the same thing happen.  By the time I have read through or looked at the posting image, whatever,  I can no longer delete what was wrong.  I am not talking about a long time here--only seconds usually.   It must be I am doing something wrong.  I would LOVE to have 30 minutes time to correct something because I usually know it immediately when I have made such a mistake and hurriedly try to correct it.  Thanks again for taking time to  respond.
