Google Analytics New Codes

Google Analytics codes are changing. The new codes for GA4 use a G. Will the G number work on Zazzle?

I hate this new forum and I hate the  new Google Analytics.

According to the google email I seem to get every day ---(I agree with your feelings about Google Analytics)

Google Analytics 4 is our next-generation measurement solution, and is replacing Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits. If you still rely on Universal Analytics, we recommend that you complete your move to Google Analytics 4.

My guess is that once you have the GA4 code, you change out the Universal GA on Zazzle and replace it with GA4.

Possibly Z will auto update the code. But I don't believe so. And it's not just the Z GA code to update, if you have websites, blogs with GA code, joy joy fun fun.

Have not done anything with GA lately, too busy deleting the numerous emails notifying me of the sunsetting.

BTW, GA is extremely difficult to work with, and not user friendly with their tech support over the many years I have used it. Just expressing my user experience.

Hello. The new code works on Zazzle. I use it for all my stores.

I tried it and at first it looked like it worked because when I was on my Zazzle site, Google Analytic showed 1 user in real time.  It even showed the pages I visited.  However, after leaving my website, Google Analytic didn't list any visitors and it reads "No data received from your website yet."  Oh, well, it's not like I ever get 100 visitors to my sites on any day and what good does it do seeing who is visiting my sites, if no one is ordering.

It does work after all.  Yesterday I couldn't see any data but today it's there.  So it does work when you put the G code where before you put the UA code.

I don't like the new Google Analytic.  I went back to the old Google Analytic.

@WBartworks

Read my earlier post---

Google states "On July 1, 2023, Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits. If you still rely on Universal Analytics, we recommend that you complete your move to Google Analytics 4...."

After that date you won't have a choice.

It's almost a year until then.  I'll change it when it's absolutely necessary.

How do I put the new code? GA4 shows me only a number, but some people here tell to use de GA4 before it, other tell to use only G. I don't know what to do...

And does anyone know if my UA data will be automatically migrated to GA4?... I want my older statistics to be there... Hate this GA4...

I agree with your feelings entirely on both counts.

Hi all,

Moving this to Ask A Question as there is no tech issue present.

Hello, I see your a moderator. My GA4 code (only number) isn't working. How should I write the GA4 Code?

I'm with all of you who hate GA4.  Not user friendly AT ALL!  But - I feel like the UA numbers are not working accurately anymore.  For instance, I see views appear on Z that are unaccounted for an UA analytics now.  Been happening for a couple of months.

I heard many talking about the dislike of GA4 and I agree 😭 Just as I was starting to learn how to navigate UA they take it all away and hide everything! No longer can I see the tree links where I was able to track a user's path. Plus I can't seem to find where I can see traffic from socials! I saw that some can use Google Tag Manager to help track links back to Zazzle stores, although I'm not sure that can be done with Zazzle because it requires access to a place where one can paste the tag manager code. 😓
