How can I download my images from my image albums?

Help!

I recently upgraded my computer and lost all of my original images from an application that was dropped.  I have been weeks trying to recover the application files and it looks like it is impossible.  The only images I have of these files are in my Zazzle image files.  How can I download my images from my Zazzle image albums?

I have downloaded my images from my image albums in the past but cannot figure out how to do it with the new Zazzle site changes.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You can download your images using 'Create' from your store side panel @anura22

1 Select Products tab (Left hand side design tool)
2 Choose what size you want to save as (right hand side design tool)
3 Chose your image from 'my files' (open full image browser to search)
4 Download and save to your computer

I am not aware of any way to download the image files you have uploaded to Zazzle. What was the application that was dropped?

Windy, "The Print Shop" was updated to "Print Shop" and the new one will not work will not work on MacOs Monterey.  I purchased the update but it will not open any of the older application files.  And just a month ago I went through my art files and deleted all the jpg and png files.   Guess I had better stay with photo shop and illustrator.

With Sara-H solution, I am able to download files.

Happy day!  Katichel

Oh, okay. Though I am not familiar with this program in particular, I have in the past been able to purchase OLD versions of programs on Ebay. Sometimes an old version can still be loaded and will still allow you to work with the files. (Depends on a number of things, though). As you can now download from Zazzle, maybe you will not need to try that route.

Thanks, Sara-H!  It works.

Hi Sara! I'm trying your solution, as I also lost a bunch of old files that are still on Zazzle, but I can't seem to find the option to download. I open the full image browser and when I click on the image I want to save, it just shows me some info about it (name, original size, etc) but doesn't show a download button. Am I missing something? Was I supposed to select something specific in the Products tab? I also don't see anything about saving images in the right-hand design tool, just stuff about resizing and using filters and deleting whites from the image.

Same issue. There is no download option anywhere that I can see.

I think I tried this at the time it was posted and was surprised that it did work. That was in using my desktop. Most of the time I am on iPad. iPad is missing a lot of Zazzle functionality, in particular with images. It well might be that use of a certain machine or browser is needed for this task.

I also do Postcrossing!

@hakuai Sorry - I've only just seen this. I didn't get any notification that you'd replied to me.

Did you manage to work it out? In case you didn't, you need to start from your store home page and look for the create icon down the left hand side

 store front create icon

Then click left hand side Products tab to select the size of your download and then go to 'my files' search for your artwork and load into the the design tool.

Press the blue download button (top right hand side) to save to your computer and rename as needed.

@maccam89 perhaps this will help you too?

@Sara_H

Thank you for the screenshots. The Emoji button isn't showing me any emojis at the moment. Or I'd give you a smiling face. 🙂

When we click on the Create button we need to choose a product. Which product are you choosing?

It seems I'm missing a step somewhere.

Perhaps it has to do with what kind of device you're using. I'm on a windows laptop.

@Angel Hi - I click on a text element or an illustration which then opens the design tool then I click on the products tab to change my dimensions

Also just found you can click on the digital tab (left hand size) to change dimensions too or chose one of the templates available

Great Job Sara H!
Worked for me too!!!
Thanks so much!!!

I can't find where or how to download my file!

Hi Sara,  This does not work anymore with the new site setup. Is there some way I can still download my images?

Thanks, Kati

@ anura22

Hi Kati,

I tried opening images in a new tab, but that's such a small version of the image, being the size of the preview in Images.

Though it's not the exact same size as my original image I've been finding this other method works for me.

On the Product Page in the Management Banner go the the tab that says 'More Options' choose 'Download Artwork'.

Though not the same size as our originals, I think the size of the original image affects the size of the download as they are various sizes.

I just checked two of my such downloads and they were both more than 200 ppi. They are high quality images. This is how I'm replacing some of my 'lost' images and it's working well for me.

Hope this works for you,

Angel 😊

This does work. For those wondering, here's what that looks like:

JimCarnicelli_1-1677545831313.png

I do notice that the file I download is much smaller than the one I uploaded. Something to be aware of.

@JimCarnicelli You can download any size using the Create panel - just set the dimensions before you download it

I have a feeling they removed the feature you are talking about. I don't see any option to download. Either from the regular image browser or the "full image" search, a view of the same. I think maybe they went out of their way to make this very difficult.

I suspect that the only way you could do this would be to purchase your own digital download. I assume that would get you the full resolution image.

@JimCarnicelli You need to go to the Create panel from your store home page. You can't download direct from your images

Did you backup your computer files somewhere at ANY TIME in the past, BEFORE you upgraded it?
Did you ever save any of your images to an external hard drive, thumb drive, cd, dvd?
Do you have an old Hard drive that you don't use right now that is still working? You might have still have images on it.
Did you ever upload or save any to Icloud?
Do you have a website that you own and/or blog where you might have some of your images?
Do you have any images printed out or sketched on paper anywhere? You could rescan them.
(Just trying to get you to think outside the stifling box and prompt your memory)
If none of these get a yes, then you could take screenshots (very tedious) of your designs and work with what you have. Won't be easy, bks you will be working with 72dpi which is fuzzy when you try to uprez.
You aren't the first person to post about having lost their images. Old forum had various posters asking if Zazzle would either allow them to d/load or would d/load for them. Answer was no. I remember years ago Z saying that they save the images in a  proprietary format, which is useless to SKs (shopkeepers).

Just thought about it a little more and tested this very old way before I edited my post:
there’s a little I (information icon) on lower right corner of your image, click on it, you will get a panel with a larger image, which says “add to album” or “delete”, but what you want to do is hold down on the image>select open image in new tab which shows getimage and shows size. Select Save image as.

Adding to my earlier post,
please, whatever method you choose and are finally able to access and save your images,
GET A LARGE THUMBDRIVE AND/OR EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE and immediately start saving your recouped images there.
Maybe also burn to a CD or DVD as an extra precaution, because HDs fail, stuff gets corrupted.
Always have a backup.

I back up to two external hard drives and to dropbox lol. I learned the hard way when my dog peed on one of my hard drives and I lost everything LMAO!! (Well its actually still recoverable, but I would have to pay several hundred dollars for someone to do it in a clean room -shipping it off and waiting for them to return me a new one-, so it's been shelved for now. Lots of important things on there that I need, so I'll do it one day!)

@idraw 😊😊😊

That was great advice you gave anura22 about having backups!

I loved that you included the info about opening an image in a new tab and Save Image As option. I didn't know that was available in My Images. 💖

@anura22

What a great question!

I have asked another POD website and they were kind enough to send me a zipped file with all of my images on their site. Maybe this will work for you with the site you can't access any more.

As @idraw says, having backups are just a must these days. If you use an external drive and it is passworded make sure you can access the password without whatever device it's attached to. I used WesternDigital which quit working and now I don't have access to the password which I saved on my computer. WD says they can't help me at all.

Other options include OneDrive and Dropbox.
