How to Copy/Paste Designs from My Listings to Z 'Design Now' Tool?

When using the Z 'Design Now' tool below to create a design (purely just a design, not attached with any products), is it possible to copy/paste some designs that I have already had in my own product listings to the 'Design Now' tool? (I have tried, but I can't find a way to do that.)

You can use the product media manager on any of your product pages to download copies of your published products on Zazzle, then upload that/those images into the "Design Now" design you are working on. "Design Now" is not for creating designs to sell on Zazzle, it is for customers to create designs for themselves for all kinds of purposes, i.e. social media, flyers, and many other creative purposes. You can create there as a customer.

@DancingPelican  Thanks for the reply.  What I was asking is, suppose I already have a product listing with a design of 10 'layers', is it possible to copy/paste 8 of those 10 'layers' to the "Design Now" tool when I create another design on the "Design Now" tool?  (I understand the "Design Now" tool is not for selling products.)

I cannot answer your question as I have never tried that. Sorry!

@1234Shine

I've just copy/pasted layers from a design to the design tool so in can be done (windows/desktop)

If you want to select multiple layers, shift and click and select the layers you want

In Design Tool - I added a rogue text layer first to test - then press edit/paste (or ctrl v) - all elements appeared as expected.

Looks like he is talking about copying from a design (saved or published) in the regular Design Tool, and pasting to the canvas in the Create tool which is a different design space. I tried it a bunch of times and the 'paste' option is always grayed-out.

@ColsCreations Yes that's what I did. Regular design tool that had layers - shift click, ctrl c open new Design Tool, ctrl v and everything pasted over

Huh. I was using the menu options for copy/paste before. Just tried doing it manually with keyboard CTRL+C  / CTRL+V and it still wouldn't work, even after changing the background color in the Create space which is the "trigger" I use going from Design Tool to Design Tool.

@ColsCreations did you add a text layer (not a font pairing - normal add text)

and the text tab has highlighted when I ctrl v'd

@Sara_H  Let me make sure you and I are talking the same "Design Tool", go to this Zazzle page:

https://www.zazzle.com/create

You'll see this:

Click the "START CREATING" tab and it opens up a design tool that is not associated with any Z product.  So, is this where you did your testing?  Are you (or anyone reading this post) able to copy/paste a layer or layers from yout product listing design to here?

this is what I saw and pressed'Design now' @1234Shine

then I added a text layer

then I opened a saved design

shift click layers ctrl c

back to the Design Tool (new) ctrl v

All elements appeared

@1234Shine Followed the exact same process on your link - and all elements pasted

perhaps the trick is to add a text layer in the new Design Tool before you start

then copy from one (ctrl c) and paste to the other (ctrl v)

I've only been trying with text - just tried it with a png and it didn't paste @ColsCreations

I remember something from when they first introduced the create tool that it was designed so that you couldn't copy/paste from the regular design tool, because the create tool allows the user to download completed designs for free and there were copyright/licensing issues with that. My memory is vague on the issue, but I do remember that people were really worried that the create tool could be used to steal artwork, so they put some sort of wall between the two tools to prevent that from happening. I could be wrong, and I don't have the time or energy to research it, but that's what I remember.

I remember this also. It was done specifically for that purpose, to protect Creators.
