Masking a Photo

Hi, everyone! My question is: When you do a mask on a photo using, for example, the circle from "elements", and then the customer can upload their own photo during personalization, does the customer have any way of adjusting their photo within that circle, or is it "fixed" once they upload. Hope that makes sense!

They would have to open your design  via the Design tool and know how to unmask their photo and mask it again. There's no way that I know of to do any adjustments outside of the Design tool (ie tweak the placement)

Sarah_H is correct. I just had a customer yesterday ask me exactly about how to adjust their uploaded image as they couldn't find a way. I explained it to the customer and it looks like the customer decided not to move forward with the order.

It would be good if the customer had some simple scaling and moving options to adjust the masked image within its shape.

Thanks for asking this question @GL123 . 😊  It's something I've often wondered about but never got around to asking and it's nice to have a definitive answer. It would certainly be helpful if they could somehow move their photo around within the mask.

I still don't understand this. So I found a product from @Connie  (hope you don't mind)
https://www.zazzle.com/modern_nautical_tying_the_knot_wedding_save_the_date-256802244005502956
I can see the replace image button (sorry, I am apparently not allowed to paste screenshots any more)
Then I replace the image and after I replace the image there is a button that says "adjust" next to it.
When I try to replicate the situation, I am not able one way or another to make an "adjust" button appear. And this product doesn't seem to be using a mask.
It's clearly the adjust button that makes all the difference.
I have asked this already in the feedback, but haven't found an answer so far. Any help appreciated, thank you!

@Anne which browser are you using? Are you on windows or mac?

Have you created a mask on your product using either a svg or one of zazzle's shapes (circle/square etc?)

Have you made your image a template?

If you can link to the product you're having trouble with that may help

@Sara_H Thank you!
I am using Chrome on Windows 10.
I did create a SVG after downloading Inkscape, and yes the image is a template (though you can't see that immediately in the advanced editor).
I have been hesitant to publish it, as it is not working as it should, but here is a direct link:

I've been messing with it for so long now, that there may be other errors as well 🙂

@Anne Congratulations! I see the adjust button and it's working as expected

It could be that you don't see it because it's your product and you're logged in

But I see it so high fives!

You're an angel, @Sara_H . Thank you so much for your help.
However, I can't possibly ask you to check my products every time I publish a product with photo template.
So I consider this a bug, @James
Ideally you would see what Connie managed to do in the example above, but I can't figure out how she did it

I'm honestly not sure what you're referring to as a bug but, @Sara_H is right. The adjust option does not appear for Creators on their own designs. Whether a store page, a product page, a collection .. if you want to check what the general public sees without signing in and out, it's a good idea to have a second browser open in another window you can switch back and forth from.

Actually, I can now see the "adjust" button on my product in another browser, but it does not work. I am not able to drag or scale the replacing image, it just cuts off.
I never used to have to view my own products in another browser to see what it looks like and I don't think I should have too, if it were working properly.
Has anybody else been able to figure out how to create a scaling and moving option even without mask, like Connie has? Thanks for any help!
