Moving Products Within Collections

I've noticed that sometimes, when I'm dragging a product to the top of a collection, it zips to the top, I release it, and it stays there! Yay! (Happy Dance!) But then I can't make it do the same thing with a different product, no matter where I drag it. Is there an actual way to make one product zip to the top of a collection on purpose?

Yes, I posted about this a while back as well. I think Mark said that it had to do with setting the sorting order to "recommended" (which is not the standard setting). Anyway, that would be no reason to not be able to re-order products. Also having to drag a new product to the top (or close to the top) is cumbersome. Both these issues were subsequently ignored. I hope this gets fixed as it is a very time consuming bug.

It depends on the type of collection you're arranging

With Similar Style/Different styles and Gift types of collection - it's very easy to rearrange by dragging and dropping to your heart's desire

If it's a cross sell with recommended slots and bonus products - you have to mess about with the settings to get them rearranged (and sometimes they don't behave as expected) Have a play with the grouped/ungrouped product sort option on the cross sell type collection (burger menu next to the Add Products) and see.

This is still not fixed and I am not talking about the cross sell, which is a nightmare in many other ways as well. 
I also moved from "recommended" (which is not working either, as there are no views since the "upgrade") to custom ordering. Does not help, the products are flying all over the place and I can't get rid of Christmas, or worse: Halloween items showing first (hence no views).
