New Collections Pages Media Manager

I have a question I hope someone can answer -  in my travels in attempt to figure out these new collections _ I came across a sentence.. and for the life of me I cannot seem to find it again) .. but I think it was when you are in the collection editing and click on adding media (Media manager)  it asks for images for the banner and cover image and I believe it was here that said something to the effect of "you can choose up to 10 products to show the cover image on the product page instead of the product image"   (forgive me on the wording but this is what I think it said) .. my question is this: why would we want to?  What am I missing ?  If the  cover image shows products that are not the product you are choosing .. ? Why do this?  and if not, you would not put 10 products in the cover image.. so this has me confused.. as it would not represent that product -  and if we already have a cover image for the product, then ???  and since I no longer  can find this sentence, I am really confused.  What am I missing here or have I read it all wrong?   thanks for any help!

I have done this for a couple collections so I will tell you why I did.

What it says is:

"Select up to 10 products for which you would like Zazzle to show the collection image instead of the product image in search.

Focus on products that are shown in your collection cover image and have a strong connection with the collection type and occasion".

So when somebody searches for X and it finds your product, it shows them the cover image for the collection that product is in instead of the usual product image. I have a birthday collection. I chose that when somebody searches for a particular birthday invitation and mine comes up, instead they will see my collection image. My collection image has the invitation in it and other stuff too. It makes it immediately obvious there are companion products that can be purchased. I can't demonstrate this because it hasn't gone live yet. But when search brings up my invitation, the customer will see my collection cover image which is invitation+other things to buy.

Thank you both! and I kind of thought that was what it meant but it threw me off.. saying 'Select up to 10 products' ...  you would not have a collection cover image with 10 things in it.. (would you ? Maybe I am off base with the number of things I should have in my cover)   I sorta think that would be confusing.. am I wrong?  I was thinking 3 or 4 things in the cover image - (Also) It makes it immediately obvious there are companion products that can be purchased. - which is a good thing !  But I was under the impression that "see more products in this collection would still be under the product.  I am thinking, in my simple mind, this would be a confusing thing.. (marketing has Never been my forte ) so I appreciate the knowledge you all have to share..

I never put more than 4 things in a cover image, usually 2 or 3. They do allow 10 products for that option which implies 10 products in the cover image but I doubt anyone will take them up on that. Too cluttered and chaotic.

Just a note: you will find this in the 'Zazzle Marketplace' section of your collections.
