Hello Everyone,
I'm new to Zazzle and have only made one sale so far. Im just starting out and am hopeful about learning more going forward. I would love some honest feedback on what I have done so far and if anything stands out that needs to be addressed or focused on. I know you are all very busy so thank you in advance for any honest feedback or helpful advice you may have.

@StaciFarrellKeeganCreations did an excellent write-up. Fix your store's Pinterest address so people can find and follow you there. You linked it correctly in your personal profile but the Pinterest store link goes nowhere.
I'm fairly new too (less than a year). I have jumped on new products (not always but sometimes when I liked them) and that has bumped me temporally up to a ZRank 6 although now I fell back to a 5. I figured there was less competition with new items and yes, I have sold a couple fanny packs. With wall paper though that "trick" didn't quiet work, lol. On the other hand I got lucky again with the election campaign stuff. I guess I take a little boost who comes around every four years, smile. And business cards. If someone asks me what I'm doing I say POD stuff. And folks just look at me puzzled. I than add "It's "Print on Demand" like Business cards etc. and it's funny how my neighbors suddenly realized that they actually needed some business cards. This has brought me a couple orders too.
I wish you much success!!

I looked at your store. Everything looks great. Lots of template text and photos. Appropriate tags (except don't use the word "gift", it's a null tag that won't be searchable on Zazzle). Everything has the potential to appeal to somebody.
The problem is that it is unlikely to be seen because it is fairly minimalist. There is a huge market for minimalist and perhaps you are personally drawn to it and that's why you design that way. But it's also a saturated market because it's so popular and sells well. Top sellers who are on the front page are going to snag those minimalist sales. So how do you get eyes on your products so that they sell?
1)Promote on social media such as X, Pintrest, Instagram etc.
2)Niche down to attract people who are looking for something too obscure to make it to the front page. For inspiration turn to your geographical location, hobbies, pets, occupation, religion, politics and so on. Do a search in the marketplace for where you live, what you do for a living, the type of pet you have if any and you'll see what I mean. If you don't see much, even better. That means it's an underserved market. I am a retired microbiologist and my most consistent selling products refer to that occupation. I sell other designs too but those niche items get eyes on my stuff in general. You are a small fish in a big pond but you can shrink that pond by finding a niche. Niche products can still be done in a minimalist style if that's your design preference and they will sell. It's just if they are targeted to a niche they have a better chance of being seen.

I took a look at your store and it is an absolutely terrific example of niching down. I love how your collections are geographically themed to parts of San Francisco. Even if the products themselves don't name-check that area, they fit thematically. Psychedelic designs under Haight-Ashbury, business cards in the Financial District, politics in the Civic Center. Chef's kiss 😘

@KeegansCreation Thanks a bunch for your kind words. Since the beginning (last November) I wondered if I wasn’t totally off with my idea. You reinsured me now that it could fly. I even have created an „About“ page on my website (https://sanfrancisco.zone/about/) where I show the neighborhoods with a clickable map which than opens up to products in that area of San Francisco. Eventually the whole map will be done (hopefully). San Francisco is so diverse. You walk a bit and you go from Italy to China, we have Russian and Japanese quarters (a bit of a longer walk or bus ride of course) and so on.
Thanks again!! 😊

@Connie Almost, lol. It’s a super tiny state though - I copied this off the net:
Quote
San Francisco is 47 square miles, which locals sometimes refer to as "7x7". The city is part of a metro area with a population of more than 3.3 million people, while San Francisco itself has a population of around 809,000.
Unquote
I can say that we have walked SF truly - especially the many, many steep stairs. I used to drive a stickshift too - sometimes that’s a bit challenging because the hills are often really steep and my car‘s breaks were old (like my car). 😬 But the public transit system was very accessible, at least before the pandemic. Now they sadly have scrapped a lot of lines, sigh. And living (or parking) space is super rare in SF so the pandemic (and other things) really did a number on the city. It’s still a beautiful place to be (not every where of course). Downtown has become a ghost town (kinda). 💔

Thank you so much for your reply. This is very helpful. I love your campaign products btw!!! I do find its hard to explain to anyone what I'm doing...lol. However Im having so much fun creating on this platform. I will try to jump on new products. I think that's great advice and thank you for pointing out that my Pinterest account isn't linking up. I didn't realize this. Have a wonderful weekend!!!
