Product type often not added to title?

This is something I've begun noticing in the Show Me pages. The HTML has the product type in it but it isn't showing beneath the product picture. It's not across the board and isn't even consistent within product type, but it can lead to wondering, at times, what something actually is.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Oh, I noticed this in May 2022 ... only happens on the individual product page (not the backend):

Product type does not always auto fill in the HTML... - Zazzle

I went to your link and immediately gave you kudos for your reply. Product type should definitely be there when sharing.

oh yes. plus, the fact that we can now only share our products/designs from the backend means that we have to add that extra bit of text into the HTML code.

I've noticed that in products/ads that Zazzle puts on Facebook. There's no product type included with the title:

so for products that share the same shape, confusion may arise as to whether the product shown is a sticker, plate, coaster, etc.

Exactly! Even when the product is clear from the image, I still find it confusing - like this example "I crushed 5th Grade Monster Truck Graduation Cap" - It's hard to see from this image that the truck is wearing a graduation cap, so it's confusing... is this an ad for a t-shirt or a graduation cap?

I don't know about you, but an ad that is ambiguous about what it is supposed to be selling is a real turnoff for me. If I were a customer, I wouldn't go any further.

I posted this issue in "technical issues" over a year ago, got a reply  they'll "flag this with our team".... 🤔

https://community.zazzle.com/t5/technical-issues/product-not-adding-to-title/m-p/33501

Esp. with paper products it's often hard to see, and in adds it simply looks unprofessional. In the show me forum I add the product myself.

Maybe if we all kudod both posts they'll look into it again...??

Hi all,

I have flagged this with the team again and I will reply to the original thread with any updates as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience.

Here is my two cents worth on this one.  When I create a product and click to sell it, I have to enter in the title.  I give it a title and then when I click off Z has a pop up note that says the product type was added at the end for me.  So I designed these socks and titled it "Pastel Paisley Bandana"  I didn't add the word sock myself because Z says they do it.  Since I didn't type "sock" in myself, my title looks like this:

On this next one I titled it with "Graphic Tee" at the end and Z didn't add any product type after it because I already covered that in the title itself, so it shows up looking correct.

So I think that if you don't type the product into your title yourself, then it will get left off. All the products I posted for sale where I gave it a descriptive name and let Z add the product type at the end, it shows up missing when sharing it. Hope that makes sense.
