Products showing in Store Management but not in the Marketplace (not new products) is this new?

I usually just look at my store in Store Management and assumed all my products were also showing in the Marketplace - I was wrong. So - I was wondering if this is something new or if I have been clueless for a long time. I could not find a pattern to what was and was not showing - I have a lot of products and most are in Categories with Sub Categories. None of my products are in Hidden Status and they are not new products - they are showing in Collections - but do not (all) seem to be showing in Categories or as searchable in the MP. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it new - or standard Zazzle Marketplace practice? Thank you! Nancy

yes, I have noticed this for some time.

here are two possible explanations:

discontinued or out-of-stock (long-term and short-term) products will not show up in the Zazzle marketplace (also, products incorrectly flagged as discontinued will not show up in the marketplace -- e.g. snowglobes are not discontinued but rather are out-of-stock, so you won't see them in the Zazzle Marketplace, nor will you be able to modify their titles/descriptions/tags, etc.)

only a number of pages worth of your store's products will show up in the marketplace (for me, that's 17 pages, as I have over 10,000 products in one of my stores, using the New filter).

doing a search for your store myrubiogarden yields 3,452 results when sorting by the Popular filter and 3,558 results when sorting by the Newest filter (I'm guessing two different indexers are being used, hence the different number of results being pulled up).

Thanks so much! That is helpful and disheartening....as less than 5% of my products are showing up in the Marketplace. I noticed back in January - I think - that if you have more than 24 Sub Categories no products would show up in the Category - so changed the structure of my whole store - nesting more Sub Categories - the good thing that changed since then is Collections look great now - in January only the first 16 products were showing up in the Marketplace - now all products are showing and they have a cool new design with colors in the background. When I first started restructuring Categories - the first 24 products were showing up in each Category/Sub Category - so there was some control over what was in the Marketplace - now there seems to be no pattern - a random number of products in the Main Category and then only those products showing up in the Sub Categories - hopefully this is not the final iteration - thanks again!

@myrubiogarden

oh my, I did not know about the sub-category limitations. I think that I've only ever maxed out at 5-6 sub-categories in any given store category ... but then again, I don't tend to structure my stores the way we're supposed to.

I tend to organize product type into categories,

e.g., Drinkware > Mugs
                          > Lovers' Mugs
                          > Mason Jars
                          > Paper Cups, etc.

as opposed to using categories for themes (the conventional wisdom, if you will)

e.g., Weddings
e.g., Gifts for Mom / Dad / Kids, etc.

of course, this method has its limitations ... not all domains carry the full range of products one finds on the U.S. domain.

I tend to use the Collections feature for themes.

thanks for sharing!

I'm sure what you are doing is fine - I suspect everything that was happening earlier this year is perhaps no longer happening for good or ill...also - the issues I noticed in January were on the phone app - I don't think I ever checked the regular marketplace at that time - and everything seems to have changed again at some point - I definitely do not seem to know what I am doing....

don't feel bad about it, I have those days too! 😊

hopefully these are just growing pains for the next round of changes!

Thank you so much - you are very kind!
