Like everyone else, I've been working diligently to create cover images for my products, and I'm trying to sort out the best way to deal with this in terms of promoting on Pinterest. Maybe some of you know more about this than I do.
- If I create a cover for something I've already promoted on Pinterest, can I go ahead and pin it again with the cover image or would Pinterest consider that a frowned upon duplicate pin? I'm hesitant to delete the pins with the old images, but with all the work I'm putting into these covers, it would be great to get as much bang for the buck as possible. Are you guys re-pinning stuff now that it has a cover?
- I'm getting SUPER frustrated with the lag in time before the cover image propagates across the site because it's messing with my workflow. Generally I pin it as soon as I finish creating the design, but I can't do that now because all I get is the "image not found" message. So now I have to find a way to remember to go back and do them. Anybody have great suggestions on this front?
Love to hear your thoughts on this topic in general!

On P it is all about the image. So pin again with the new cover photo. You should not get dinged for it.
I don't have an answer for Q2.

Doh! I never even thought of that! 🤔 I'm always thinking that the link is what matters - because that's what I'm mostly trying to accomplish, but you're absolutely right - it's a completely different image so of course it will be seen as a new pin not a duplicate. Thanks!

I have made some reels on Instagram with the cover photos that I have later used on Pinterest and also in my media section on Z. I think that taking advantage of the cover photos to include them in new formats that are advancing very quickly is a good idea. Another task to include in our great list of daily tasks 😄

That's a good idea! I have yet to embrace Instagram, mostly because... well because I'm old, lazy, and set in my ways! 😉 Seriously though, it actually might be easier to use Instagram with cover images than trying to promote there directly from Zazzle because I've already got the pics on my computer - less rigamarole to go through to upload them - well, I guess it would be more accurate to say that the rigamarole has already been gone through so uploading to Instagram is really just one more step. I should probably drag myself into that world... kicking and screaming as it were...

Old and lazy.... Wow, that's a bit familiar to me too, hahaha! Right now I'm trying to learn a bit on TikTok... everything moves very fast I know, but tagging Z on social media can be very beneficial. One day you may even see your designs there because buyers also tag Z and OMG! there it is, it's your design and that's great!!

re item 2.
Are you going into 'edit this design' to shift the main view of product to cover image? If not you need to do this.
If image still not showing, refresh the page a couple of times. Then it will show for you to pin. Sometimes the image doesn't appear until you're ready to share the pin.

Thanks Leah! So, just to be sure I understand what you're saying.... I know if I wait a day or two it switches the default to the cover automatically, but you're saying that if I switch the view under product merchandising immediately after uploading the cover, that will make it available to pin? Do I have that right?

It's incredible and I don't know why, but it happens that two cover photos placed 5 minutes apart, some are shown and others are not... 🤷♀️
