The edit option in Show Me Forum

Sometimes when posting in the Show Me Forum,  I need to correct something,  but while there IS an option to edit, no matter how quickly I try to do so,  I have yet to be able to get it corrected fast enough to take effect.  Consequently, I have a few postings that I really wish I could have corrected.  Because I could not correct them, it clutters up the Forum with postings that have to be re-done correctly rather than being able to just correct the one already posted.  Am I missing something --IS there a way to edit something without having to be faster than a speeding bullet?  I keep thinking that the edit option gives so little time to do it that it is pretty much worthless.  I am not THAT slow.  The edit option just disappears in literally, a blink.

Yes, the window for editing is too short, and because of this, I've developed a light bit of paranoia, not hitting the Reply button immediately, reading over what I've said, correcting myself, etc. Sometimes even that isn't so good either because I periodically forget to hit the Reply button, going away satisfied that I've said what I wanted to say only to come back later to discover I never said anything at all.

I just tried it and was able to edit. We have been told we have one hour to edit posts....I would think this applies to the Show Me forum as well as all the other areas of the forums.

@Windy, thank you for jumping in here with your own observations of posting/editing.  I know we were told that we could not delete but had up to an hour to edit.  But so far, in the Show Me Forum, once I click on the edit button, it is gone!  I wonder if it is something I am causing inadvertently.  I sure could use that option.   Currently, I have mistakenly posted a notebook in the iphone 10 Show Me and a notebook in the pedestal Show Me.  When I went to copy and paste in one, a previous design, for some reason, did not change to the next item I wanted to copy and paste even though I did do the copy and paste thing on the next item that I have done millions of times with no problem.  It instead pasted the same one but now in the wrong forum.  Think that problem is due to my trackpad getting old and worn out from all the copying and pasting!  Anyway, that is just an aside.  Things like this though is why it would be good to have that edit working for me.  Thank you Windy.

PS. Had a correction to make in the above.  Decided to try the edit here and I could easily do it  and had time to spare.  This is what I wish I could have when posting designs.

I was under the impression it was 15 minutes. Maybe it's been changed?

@Barbara, I had to laugh at your saying sometimes you think you have replied only to come back later and find that you have said nothing at all!   All you said is good advice.  I think I need to slow down and just try to get things right the first time.  I often do many designs over many hours and I get tired by the time I get to the posting part.   Windy below remarked that we have one hour to edit posts but I have not found that to be the case in the Show Me forum.  What has been your experience with  it , timewise?  Maybe I am doing something wrong that is making it do this?  Anyway thanks so much for you input.

There's no harm in editing or even deleting a Show Me post. It's not like what used to happen in the old forum when someone started a thread, a number of people responded, and then the original poster decided to completely change what they said or outright delete their post, leaving a lot of strange posts immediately following.

I think this new forum could use a few small tweaks, but if they happen, it won't be until everyone gets through the bustle of the season.

Besides treating the Show Me forum a bit more leniently, I'd love to see the Ideas & Suggestions forum in newest order and leave it at that. What's hot or top would naturally float to the top.
