Titles Question

I miss the ability to change a title from edit on item page. When doing that I could post the item with the correct title. Now when I change a title it does not change. I am not even sure how long it takes to change?  Is it ok to change it from the edit item at the top of the page and when will it change? Do I have to redo the entire item to get the incorrect title out of the item. I know that it lists the title as the URL but you can not change that. Thanks in advance.

The title words in the URL of the product are irrelevant. It's the code number that identifies the product. You can create a URL that just uses the code number, and not the title part, and it will go to the product. So changing the title shouldn't be a problem for anything. Old links will still work.

However, what I have noticed recently is that any change to product information is very slow to take. It can be days before it changes it on the product page.

@kashmier  I personally believe that since the title appears as the url of the product, that if you error with a typo in the title, the best move is to recreate the product, as correcting the title does not correct the url.

I had not even realized about the URL situation mentioned by  JB. But I do find that for new products it's best to avoid the Edit  Details option and just recreate the product using the proper title and tags, etc. Those Edit Details changes can take many weeks to take effect.
