hello, I'm new to zazzle, and I'm wondering if it is possible to upload an illustrator (.ai) file, and be able to edit the text in the zazzle design tool. I am creating a baby shower invitation that I want to sell, but i want customers to be able to edit their party information.

That won't work unfortunately. You can upload an Illustrator file and it will retain its vector properties so it can scale up up up. That makes it an ideal choice for large products like shower curtains, tapestries, tablecloths and so on. But the fonts can't be edited because they aren't installed on Zazzle's servers. Only Zazzle fonts can be edited.

As far as I know, the only text that you can use is the font's offered by Zazzle themselves as they have the licenses to offer those fonts.
You would have to create text templates in the design tool using the fonts available on Zazzle.

If you have special fonts you want to add to your invitation, they can added as an image file but only used for text that the customer won't need to edit. You can do a combination of your own images and then use Zazzle fonts for the editable text like this example.
