Hi Guys, I need your thoughts and advice. I've got several hundred seating chart products that were created before Zazzle implemented changes to the way text fields work (several years ago.) Here's an example:
They still work, but since it's the old format, all of the text is set to anchor at the center and expand outward (up and down) from the center which is problematic for this sort of layout. I'd love to update them since I have the replace feature, but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it. If I just change it so that they anchor at the top, it will convert them to the new functionality, BUT that will mean that they'll become fixed width, which would be too narrow for many names.
I could adjust the width of each box individually, but it's going to be hard to get them all even and then I'll have to spend a lot of time re-aligning them... and since I've got hundreds to do that really isn't practical.
Has anybody figured out a trick for dealing with this sort of thing? Ideally I'd like to make all of the text boxes for the tables the same width (as wide as possible without overlapping,) and hopefully keep them aligned as they are without spending the rest of my life doing it! Is there any way to set the size of a text box other than grabbing the anchors? There must be some way to do this!
I'm sure there's somebody out there clever enough to have figured out how to deal with this, and I'd be grateful if you could share the secret!
