What to do with your discontinued products

I keep asking this each month and I dont mean to double post.  BUT what happens when a customer from a direct or 3rd product see as a landing page . If you just leave it alone,    VS    deleting ?

@Peter222 if you delete it, they will land on a page with text that says - 'this product was removed by the designer etc with various reasons and a page full of other products from other designers that your customer may want to buy instead

If you leave it - the product will still show with a message that it's just out of stock or it may have the message that it's been discontinued (with a page full of designs from other designers)

The choice is yours

I've done both deleting the ones marked discontinued and sometimes not.  Twice items that were marked discontinued, (not marked out of stock), were made available again.  I believe the out of stock notice may have not been available at that time.

TY, I guess I will move them all to one category, rather than delete them. I just wish the the little bell saying you have 20 or so  more designs a day that "need optimising", which are actually just discontonued, would not do so. TY to all who responded.
