Why are products not sorted by most popular any longer?

The last few weeks, if not longer, i noticed when i search Zazzle the items that come up don't seem to be in the best selling or most popular order.  Even though it states it is sorted by most popular.  I know because many of my best sellers are not showing up before some of my new items.  Some new and never sold show up and my best seller does not.  Anyone else noticing this?

Yes, that is also happening to me. I thought it very strange.

My popular products are in somewhat of a mishmash too. It must have something to do with how Zazzle calculates popularity. When it last sold seems to be the prime part of it.

I have never found the 'most popular' selection reliable so for me there has been no change.

Agreed.

I have a pillow that has sold 282 times, with the last sale being on 7/12/22. I have another pillow that has sold 29 times with the last sale being 7/11/22. Both are shown on the first page when I search for "blue floral pillow", but the 2nd pillow is 55 slots AHEAD of the one that has sold 282 times.

Happy for the other pillow to get attention, for sure, but this seems odd to me.

How many views does each have and what is the comparative sales trajectory?

For mine, the first one only has two views and 1 sale.  It is in from of one with 50 views and 110 sales.  The first one was made the latest, but that should not put it in front.

Sorry for the late answer. We actually got involved yesterday in firefighting; a neighbor's cabin burned. It was a tiring day. Gotta love fire season in the Rocky Mountains....NOT!

Anyway, the pillow that has sold 282 times has 8,306 views. It has sold, I believe, 5 times in the last 30 days. The one that is above it has sold 31 times (now) and has 1294 views. It also has sold well in the last 30 days, but I am wondering if that is because it is appearing so high in search results. I appreciate that, for sure...I'm just trying to understand it all.

When using "Popularity" for all my products, the first one in line is a mask that sold 23 times, has had 179 views, the last being 11 days ago, and the last sale being back in 2021. Next to that is a sticker that sold 58 times, has been viewed 31,320 times, the last being 24 hours ago, and the last sale being yesterday. It continues like that with essentially no rhyme nor reason.

I would very much like to know which of my products are the most popular ones, but I can't figure out how Zazzle is calculating popularity either. Does anybody actually know, or can a Zazzle moderator let us know? It really would be useful.

Does anybody know the answer yet? Was thinking about this as well ...

I'm a bit puzzled by sorting the view of my shop's products by popularity. It's odd that this method brings up items that have never sold and received minimal views. I'm starting to wonder if this implies those products hold a higher marketplace position compared to others in my store. Understanding this sorting order has me questioning if it's an indicator for better SEO. Could anyone please lend some insight to help me understand?
