Why is a Google link showing up on just one of my Benable product cards?

I was adding a series of Zazzle notecards to Benable when, out of the blue, one of those cards showed a Google search link at top right along with rating stars and, when clicked, it goes to a Google search for similar cards on Zazzle. There's also a street address filled in for someplace close to me. Has anyone else hit this roadblock, and if so, did you figure out how to get rid of it? As it stands right now, I can't possibly promote this card on Benable.

I think you might be able to click on the list to open the list, then click on one of the cogs near the name of the list, then click on Advanced Settings and then toggle off “Show review sites”. Hopefully that might solve the problem.

I found this on Benable:

“Removing review site info:
Whenever possible, Benable will pull in a review site and rating for your recommendation (e.g. if you recommend a product it may pull in an Amazon rating, or if it’s a restaurant it may pull from Yelp, etc). If you want to remove all review sites at once from a whole list, just use the Review Site toggle in the list’s Advanced Settings. Or you can always edit or remove these individually when adding a recommendation, or editing it afterwards.”

Oh, weird. Now that you mention it, I have seen the same this morning.  One of several mugs I posted today on Benable  shows up with a Google review. I can give this additional info: the phrase on the mug is used by other Zazzle designers also (It's not MY mug, by the way) and in fact, it's a popular phrase on the web in general.  AND, there is a shop of the same name as the phrase. So the Google Map points to that store.

That's not good! This would have been a great question to ask in your interview, had you known about it then.

This is a collection of Mother Goose note cards, all the illustrations from the original 1916 edition. Several other Zazzlers have Mother Goose posters and have titles that would have to be similar to mine, but of all the cards I was posting, it was just that one, the one representing "Mary, Mary, quite contrary." Hickory Dickory was fine as were all the others. What the devil? Anyone clicking the Google link will end up in a swamp.

So, maybe it's something Benable has done, thinking it would be nifty. I don't think it's nifty in the least, and unless I can get rid of it, that specific card won't be posted. (Grrr!)

I sent off a query about the problem to Benable, which can take up to a day to reap results. If they say anything of value, I'll post it here.

I wonder if there is any way that the image you have used for that reflects some kind of location data?

It was an image taken from the 1916 first edition of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes and surely couldn't have triggered Google to stick in an address in the town right next to mine, which truly weirded me out! I still think it was something in my description, in particular since it's the same image, the only difference being my description.

Do you have an example? I have no idea what you guys are talking about. 🤔😮

Here's the example from my list. Under the section entitled Funny Mugs for a Plant Mom, it's the mug which says on it "just one more" https://benable.com/Windy/funny-mother-s-day-mugs

I have a few products in my pet list and things to do list that include the G search link; I have yet to create a list for my products. I left it on for those, however I don't think I'd want it on my products. I believe you can edit it and remove it, read on.

I've also seen the location filled in for me (yikes!) and found I could delete it but received "invalid address" in red. I ignored the message and it was still accepted, so you can edit the location.

Yes, I also got the "invalid address" when deleting that part, but getting rid of the Google intrusion was impossible without deleting the whole product. I'm not sure what Benable's intent might be, but I suspect they never considered the consequences of getting the Google AI behemoth involved in things.

@ColsCreations   I'm not on my computer right now and so can't put up a temporary example of it. Maybe @Laura is hanging out and can give you an example.

Well, that's disappointing!

I decided to remake the card to show it to everyone, but before I could, I got a reply from a Benable rep who wanted a link to the product to look at it. So I replicated it, but just like going to the doctor, the illness cleared up immediately. LOL However, knowing the only thing I changed was the description of the item, I asked the rep if Google's AI picks up on things in the description. She'll have to look into it, but in the meantime, anyone who gets grabbed by Google like this might try changing the description to see if it helps.

I'm going to do just that. Right now, as a matter of fact. Thank you.

Okay, I turned off the reviews on the list that was giving me a case of heartburn, and we'll see what happens, but I bet you're right about this and so I'm accepting your post as the solution.
