Custom Grouped/Ungrouped

For those collections that don't have recommended products, there is the option to have Custom Grouped or Custom Ungrouped. And if you have Custom Grouped then you "create custom group" and once that is done, "manage custom group". As far as I can tell, grouped and ungrouped both mean shuffling around the product order which is the order customers will see.

As far as I can see, Custom Grouped and Custom Ungrouped are identical. I don't know if this is because I'm missing the underlying meaning or because whatever differentiates them hasn't been enabled yet. Anybody else have insight?

So does this mean we have the ability to create our own custom product suites that reflect our own brand and vision? This newly overhauled collections system Zazzle is essentially beta testing is extremely frustrating and confusing to use and navigate. Can you elaborate on what you stated regarding creating and managing custom groups? This will help all who read this thread. Will collections that are created using this method be relegated to the "OTHER - NO REAL INTENT OR PURPOSE" bin on Zazzle? I find the "OTHER - NO REAL INTENT OR PURPOSE" label to be irritating quite honestly. As I stated in an earlier post Zazzle really needs to rethink that particular CATEGORY or LABEL as it were. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide. And thank you for posting this. I am holding off on working on collections until all of this is sorted out.

I can't see any difference between Custom-Grouped and Custom-Ungrouped. I was wondering if anybody else had spotted a difference that I missed. Or if something hasn't yet been enabled, such as an ability to create our own product suites, which would be great.

For everything that is not in a Recommended slot, you can rearrange them and this will presumably affect the order customers see them when they scroll through the collection. But whether I tick Custom-Grouped or Custom-Ungrouped I see no difference. Once you have ticked Create Custom Grouped, the available options changes to Manage Custom Grouped. But I see nothing different other than the ability to move things around within the collection which was already there no matter what I ticked.

The action of picking which category a collection goes in seems to be separate from the action of rearranging the order of products.

Thanks for your response to my questions. Frankly I am still quite confused about collections. I will focus my attention on other tasks while all of this is tested and sorted out. Someone did suggest that Zazzle publish some sort of chart that presumably resembles a sitemap to give all who are trying to create collections a central guide. I personally think this would make collections a lot less confusing and daunting. Just a thought.
