Has there been an update on Collection items in wrong place?

I can't find the original thread. But items in the collections (mostly wedding) like the save the date card and enclosure cards are being thrown into bonus products. --They are categorized correctly. (This was reported via the form link directly as well with photos.) Was this ever address by Z?

Okay, I guess this is in limbo. Too bad, it makes wedding collections pointless.

I've also just discovered this problem with save the dates. When trying to add from the save the dates category, it only lists items created previously, not the one I just created. If I add it via the 'add products' button on the collection page, it adds it to the bonus products.

Has anyone found a workaround for this?

I haven't found a work around. About 80% of my wedding collections weren't showing anything due to this. I ended up changing the type so they would at least show up.

I have exactly the same problem since today

Is there a reason reception cards go into wedding invitation category and not into the enclosure category?  I have the proper setting .. ALSO no matter what I do.. I cannot seem to get a reception card  NOT to auto put Save the date at the end.

I can't figure out why my wedding paper napkins aren't going in the right place. They show up in the Bonus products area.

Please double-check the department your items are placed in. The slot/category the item goes in the collection is determined by this.

As mentioned in my original post, they are. This was a known problem from the beginning and I was told it was being worked on. (This was reported via the form link directly as well with photos.) I was hoping for an update on the issue.

Hi ZBug, I did a spot-check on some of your wedding cross-sell collections and noticed out of the bonus products that I checked, they all were not in the wedding specific department. For example, wedding invitations should go under

Weddings > Invitations & Stationery > Wedding Invitations

I'm not have a problem with the invitations. They seem to show up in the correct place. It's the save the date and the enclosure cards that get thrown into the bonus section.

This is an example of on collection that does that https://www.zazzle.com/collections/119896675846469156

This is a "Similar Style / Theme" collection. Not a "cross-sell" collection. We have not defined a slot structure for this collection type.

The collection you linked to above is a "similar theme/style" type, not cross-sell type.

If I change the collection type to cross-sell then I do see two products in the Bonus section. Neither of these products are in the Wedding department.

So, to fix the issue you'll want to do the following:

  1. change the collection type to cross-sell
  2. move each of the products in the Bonus section to the Weddings department. (You just change the marketplace department.)
  3. add a few more product types (you may have to create them first) to the collection so that it's eligible to be merchandized on-site. (When you change the collection type to cross-sell you'll notice that there's some fields in the upper right corner of the page that turn red. Follow the instructions there.)

The reason it is in 'similar theme' is that the collection won't show up due to the issue above. I have reset it so you can see it.

My question is how do I "move each of the products in the Bonus section to the Weddings department. (You just change the marketplace department.)" It's already listed under the category

Events & Occasions

Change | Clear
Occasions > Weddings & Engagements > Save the Date

Is it something we have all been missing? Is the department something else?

And the enclose card is under
Events & Occasions
Change | Clear
Occasions > Weddings & Engagements > Wedding > Reception

Please note that this is just one example. I have other with more products with the same issues. I just found this one first.

The Marketplace Department (or simply "department") is what matters. Categories only apply to your store.

Ah! Well, I thought that was it, but the save the date is in
