New Collections section 'Event or Occasion'

Hi everyone, I'm busy adapting my collections to the new format, but for the 'Event or Occasion', I'm not sure what to choose for sports events. I have a set of designs with custom text aimed at a bicycle event/race. They're matching designs and include tshirts, stickers, water bottles and keychains.
Under the 'Event or Occasion', it says 'Don't see your moment here? Suggest one!' so I've entered 'Sports Event', but my collection is still set at 'Other', so I guess this is something that will be reviewed.

I'm also not sure what you'd choose in 'Event or Occasion' for clothing and accessories with a general pattern featuring butterflies, for example. I'm a little concerned that if I choose 'Other', will it be less promoted as it's explained for the 'Type'/'Other' section?

The events/occasions subcategories for collections is so abbreviated compared to what it is in the MP dropdown. I hope they fill it out a lot more. Maybe they are waiting to see if there are some clear front runners that people put in the request box after choosing Other. I hope lots of us are putting in requests that way.

I have hope that they will add some of the suggestions that people are putting in when having to default to Other. I had to do the same for a summer BBQ that is not tied to July 4. There are a number of events and occasions, such as sporting events and summer BBQs and community events that are not tied to holidays or anything else on the list. Other will have to do for now.

Oops! I've just realised my question should have been added to Scotts 'Collection updates on the horizon' discussion. I'm just reading through it and yes, I see similar problems!

It seems like the collection categories are heavily weighted to weddings and bridal or baby showers, and not a lot of thought has been given to other categories. So far, I don’t like the new collection settings roll-out. And this move has left designers in the dark. We should have been thoroughly informed about the impending changes—and trained—before the roll-out of such a big change occurred. So far, I’m not impressed.

I'm not sure if the wedding section is even the path to follow. It seems to me that less and less people are getting married.

I have a July 4th picnic/barbecue collection that is set to Other because there isn't a July 4th holiday option. I'm unsure about whether Holiday Season works for it because usually people use that to refer to winter holidays, so I'm leaving it for now.

Yesterday, I screeched to a halt because I don't, as a rule, do Events, not events as Zazzle sees them anyway. Reunions, dinner parties, music and dance recitals, for instance. I've a large collection of birthday mugs, 51 of them to cover a range of birth years. What am I supposed to do with this? What do I do with a collection for metal working? Optometrists? Bakeries? Teachers? And on and on.

What if, folks, Zazzle decides this wasn't ready for prime time and pulls it until they rethink the whole thing? What happens to all the changes we've made?

The way I see it, if Zazzle doesn't fill out the roster with as much as they can for all the types and styles we designers do, if most of my products end up in Other, I'll simply delete most of my collections like detritus and be done with it.

I keep wondering if Zazzle wants this setup only for their favored types of products but couldn't possibly go looking for all the people who design those products/styles, and so they put it out there for everyone, whether suited or not. And yet, they couldn't possibly have thought this was a good idea, could they?

Another question is what happens to all the designers who don't fit the mold? Will their collections go down the tubes and never again show up beneath their products?

Also, what does it mean when a collection is "migrated"? Where does it migrate to?

Frankly, I don't understand what they want us to do and, therefore, why they want us to do it.

It's been a full week without a sound from Zazzle concerning the troubles we're having.
