New Filter for Collections

Was searching luggage tags tonight and decided to check out Editors' Picks, which is Add Filter --> Special Picks. And there's a new option under Special Picks for "Products with Collections". My search for [luggage tags] said there were 292,030 results. The "Products with Collections" filter narrowed it down to two. Huh! So I tried it with something I thought would be really popular: [floral wedding invitations]. That coughed up 313,608 results. Using the "Products with Collections" filter narrowed it down to just 409. [coffeee mugs] yields 2,394,369 results but with the collections filter, just 26.  Clearly there are WAY more products in collections but things are still being sorted and indexed etc, and maybe too only collections that follow the new standards end up here, don't know, but it's a nice little easter-egg. I like it. If they keep it I hope they move it somewhere more obvious then under Add Filter - Special Picks.

Hopefully it gets fully indexed/unbugged in the next few days. I started a thread about required products and how there are now more collection types with recommended products and required products. But sometimes it doesn't tell you what the required products are. (Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Back to School have requirements that are not defined.) I thought I could use this to find out what those requirements are by seeing what products are within those collections but that isn't yet possible.

Interesting. Tried it with my store and the 28 results are quite unexpected and confusing.

I just tried it and it showed 47 products from maybe 3 collections. Huh? Although many of my collections aren't the sanctioned ones, I have way more than 3 collections that work correctly with allotted slots, etc. And the majority of the 47 products were from a single collection. From the other 2 collections that were represented, maybe only 2-3 products from them were showing? I hope this is a work in progress.
