PSA Cross sell collection POD overrides seeing 'other collections' that the product is in?

I've noticed that if you have a product in a cross sell and also in another collection type (eg gift/similar style) the 'other collection' option disappears and isn't shown so you can't browse to any other collections that might feature that product.

Unless this is just a A/B test in which case - my vote goes to "please can we see the other collections option"

I guess so. I have tons of things that are in 2 collections. This happened because I would put the things in one collection but that collection got too big so I made a second collection that was more focused with just some of the products. But I never took them out of the first because why bother.

I still won't take them out of the collection that is not Primary but I will be quite careful about what I call Primary now that I know it sort of means Only.

I tested this by going to my 2 Thanksgiving collections. One is Cross Sell, called Thanksgiving Dinner, and it's meant to be everything for the dinner itself (a Friendsgiving dinner) such as Friendsgiving invitations, paper plates, cups and such. The other is a more generic Thanksgiving and has more home decor. It is in the Similar category. But both have Thanksgiving apron. However when I click on the apron, it only shows in the Cross Sell Thanksgiving Dinner collection.

I tried going into to the Similar categorized Thanksgiving collection and chose See Product Page while in that Similar collection and it showed the Cross Sell collection.

When I went to the Similar collection and went to the product page of something that doesn't appear in both collections and clicked on my collection from there, the apron was visible as a collection item. But clicking on the apron itself showed only the Cross Sell collection.

Now we know what they mean by Primary collection.

@KeegansCreation so it's pointless having cross sell products in other collections? Interesting

@KeegansCreation me too. I'll probably only make specific things for cross sells in the future and not pad them out with other products that were selling (and already in a collection). Thanks for clarifying my thoughts
