Why is something not eligible for a collection?

I know that happens if the product you are trying to add is not from one of the stores that the collection is listed to appear in. There may be other reasons too, but that's the only one I'm aware of.

Thanks Baylee.

That's new. We used to be able to add from different shops.

So maybe this is better to ask Z to make that possible again. Without it, we'd need to make duplicate designs for different shops.

There is a work-around for this problem. If you temporarily add the currently-ineligible store to the collection list of stores, you can then add your products. Now go back and take the store off the list. Your products will still be in the collection but it won't be visible in that store.

How do you do that? I don't see an option to add a collection to more than one store any more.

@Connie In the collection channels (top right once you press edit collection) Press the 'Your Stores' and you can select the stores you want the collection to appear in

THANK YOU very much! I never even noticed that!

I don't see that, Sara_H. I see a message that you can't change the store (or add another store to it) once the collection is created. Am I missing something?

@Anne When you edit a collection - on the right hand side there is a green Your Stores button - if you have multiple stores - they should all appear with a checkbox next to it. It says 'Store Availability. Select the stores you want this collection to appear in' which I presume will show the collections in other stores. I've not tried it myself as I only want my store collections to be in the appropriate stores.

Thank you so much, Sara, that is so kind of you to explain. I hadn't seen that.

I tried that, but but I think I have to wait for the site to be re-indexed as it's only showing stuff for the original shop. Hopefully, I can add it soon. Good work around, but definitely not a permanent solution. As I think we'd all go slowly mad. 🙄 😁

Thank you, Bayee. 🙂

However... I do remember that having two or more of the same design in different shops was not allowed (i.e., not copying a design to a different shop, but actually creating another one).

Baylee is right. There's a workaround for this, but workarounds are not solutions. This might change in the future.

I am finding my only solution is to add the product again into the other store this is not ideal. For example I have kitchen towels in my wedding art design that is great for a wedding gift but don't want them in actual my wedding store as can also be a general gift. What would be good is to still be able to connect them even if just in the bonus section? I do hope you will consider this as it is better than have multiples across my different stores.

Exactly, MyLittleEden, this is a huge problem. Thank you for saying that so clearly.

I hope so, cause so far that work around hasn't worked for me. It's still just showing items from the first store. If I have to wait days for it to re-index or whatever to get the right shop to show up, I'll probably forget.

And I know it's against policy to make the same design in separate shops.

But there are a lot of cross over shops. And how do people add my stuff to their collections? I know they still can do it, 'cause I was just notified someone added something.

It's still unavailable. How long will it take for that trick to work?

I am still struggling with the store it seems to choose (sometimes I get the choice but sometimes it is already pre-allocated) it seems if the last product added it from the store I don't want it in then the whole collection is now under wrong store and we can't change it that, we can go in and click but I then went to look up my collection and it doesn't show in my wedding store only my general store. The only work around is to delete the collection completely and start again! I have so many items between my two stores too this is a painfully long process 😭 I hope we get some solutions to this?

I tried transferring a design from one store to a new product. It's listed in the right store on the sell it page and the right category but I can't add it to the collection in the other store -- ineligible? I tried adding the collection to both stores --and it is still ineligible! Halloween is right around the corner -- and the collection I'm trying to fix is my Halloween collection.  Guess I can write it off for this year! I also have a couple Christmas collections that are screwed up. I am wasting so much time.

UPDATE --- I did finally get the "solution" to work -- adding both stores allowed me to put the product in the collection.  The only problem is that it only shows up in the collection in the correct store -- but it does NOT show up as a product in the correct store product category. And I see no way to fix that.

However, there is no problem adding my Halloween postcard to my pillow collection from the right (paper goods) store products to the wrong (home goods) store collection???
