Actual Sample of a Iron on Patch

Top: how it shows on Screen Bottom: how it printsTop: how it shows on Screen Bottom: how it printsSo when I saw Zazzle had patches as a product not to long ago I thought that was pretty cool! I made some and then I decided to order one to see how they look in person.  I've got to say I'm disappointed.

Now the patch IS rather small and my design is VERY detailed....so I did have Some doubts on how good it would really look....but on screen the images looked crisp and clear and you can see all the design details.  Once I saw it in person I could tell this design was WAY too detailed for the material used to print it on as there is a LOT of detail lost and the dark background sort of bleeds into the image.

Anyways I wanted to post this as a warning and a sample for others who maybe excited about patches like I was and just slap any design on them. From now on I will probably only put more simplified styleized or cartoon like designs on them with light color backgrounds as its plain to see the details do not come through.

@zazzle I would suggest changing the preview images on these so they more accurately represent the product that you will recieve 😉

Thank you for the review @ShadoWind.

This product type has no description on it's product page and says nothing of the product itself. There are no great keywords for a description that would help this product type with SEO on Zazzle. Shame it was not given a little more love.

Thanks for the review. Your product photo makes it clear that small details get lost in the fabric weave and bright colors do best. The yellow pentagram and wing seem to be the only parts that show up well.

Note to self: less detail, more light colors.

I ordered some with my name in bold letters, plain red background and a "thumbs up" icon to slap on my work shirts and they turned out well (and didn't suffer any in the wash, either), but they weren't what I would call "crisp" prints, so could see how fine detail and gradients could get lost.
