Blooming Elegant

First of all, thank you Zazzle for listening to our suggestions. I have noticed the new fonts and I'm very excited, to see the additional script fonts, however, I don't see Blooming Elegant script or the other Blooming Elegant font on the list. I did go to a product on the marketplace where the designer had used the font and it did indicate in the design tool that it was blooming elegant but I don't see it as a selection in the fonts available. My question is will this cause a problem with designs that have already been made and will blooming elegant be back because although it's over used, I do like the glyphs that can be added. Thank you again for all that you do. I hope I'm not just missing something, I did check several times for the missing fonts.

It isn't a disaster. It will be alright. Give it an hour or so to setting down. So far my products look fine!

@WHS_DesignsYes, those other fonts have swashes, but they are not UNIVERSAL, meaning that the customer would have to know exactly what code they need for each of THEIR letters. With Blooming Elegant, and now Morgana, as long as the customer leaves those 2 little boxes at the beginning and the end of the words, they can change the text to anything and still have the tails.

yes ... it's a solution, albeit an imperfect one.

Do you know how we get Morgana swashes?  Will we need to purchase and download the font?  I have been looking for font on zazzle with universal swashes and only found Blooming elegant in the past.

Here's a poster I made. I copy/pasted each character from the Unicode Private Use area (which is where those special characters live.) I didn't make it through the whole Private Use Area, but this should cover most of the space used by most fonts.

The font here is set to NIghtstar. To see the special characters (including swashes) for a different font (like Morgana) just select all of the text and change the font. Then you can open the text field for the character you want to use and copy/paste that character into your project.

Some of my Sugar Plum invites have been migrated. The new font is Angeletti Script. Fits perfectly. I think I like it better!

That's good to know. There are actually a lot of really similar fonts to Sugar Plums. I think what's going to be a problem is substituting for their symbols. I think a lot of people used those from that set.

This is probably neither here nor there, but they seem to be making the changes by font, not by product. I had a save the date card that used Blooming Elegant (script & sans) as well as Sugar Plums (script and symbols.) Both Blooming Elegant fonts have been replaced, but the Sugar Plums have not. I'm not sure that it really matters, but just in case anybody else is watching their products like a hawk, I wanted to let you know that it might be a multi-step process.

No, not really. I have products that have migrated that are blooming elegant (all 3) as well as sugar plum. And plenty of products that utilize those fonts that haven't yet. Even in the same colorways. And it's not in order. 🙄

I have encountered some issues with the new Morgana replacement. I'm adding this post in the other Blooming Elegant Script threads going on at the moment so everyone gets informed.

The decorative tails from Blooming Elegant Script once replaced by Morgana have been added in the right space at the end and/or beginning of text, but I have found some issues with them. Initially they look fine, but if a client changes the text several times the tail changes its style to a much longer tail that in some cases doesn't even fit in place and goes to the next line! I have some products where clients order several identical products with different names, once they add the different name the second or third time, the tail style changes!!  Also I noticed that Zazzle is not always placing the new Morgana text in the same spot and this affects the design!

I have some examples below:

a4.PNG

I was very careful while designing this menu to leave enough space so all letters will fit without going over the last name, and now this font replacement messed it all up!

a6.PNG

I hope Zazzle reconsiders. These issues will cause a huge amount of problems and questions from clients and ultimately reduce sales.

Many brides order these menus in batches now they won't be able to complete their menus to match, and when they come back to complete their order they will find out  that the name tail is not working properly after a few tries! Guess what is going to happen, I will receive constant questions of very upset clients letting me know my design doesn't work!

Many of my best sellers have Blooming Elegant Script and Blooming Elegant Sans, and I do prefer the look of Blooming Elegant Script over Morgana.  I don't like Morgana's spiky capital letters look ;-(

Zazzle please bring back Blooming Elegant font family!

I am having the very same issue and I already started a new thread because I was just too exhausted to even bother searching for existing threads.  I have a ton of products using blooming elegant, and have also taken very careful consideration in line spacing, font sizing and more to create a very specific look for my products and now I see that (like your menu cards) the blooming elegant is overlapping the serif fonts - and letter spacing is much tighter too because I had products where I intentionally sized the font to fill the entire length of the item - and the new font comes up short and ruins it.  Especially if someone personalizes with a shorter name... I don't have time to fix all of these products one by one.  I'm also hearing of many other fonts I loved to use being discontinued so I guess I'll have to search all of my products one, by one, for discrepancies.  Smh.

Has anyone that has used Porcelain have it replaced yet? I am wondering what the replacement is?

Anything I had grouped together, including the Blooming Elegant fonts have not changed to the new Morgana or Dongle fonts. All of my other designs with the Blooming Elegant fonts have already changed. Has anyone encountered this?

ChristineK

Yes, this is happening to me, too. I am redoing these cards anyway because Morgana doesn't give me the look I had wanted, but yes, I noticed that my grouped text is still showing up as Blooming Elegant.

I am redoing some of my products too. Some that are grouped together have sold, so I don't want to delete them, but when I try to replace the product with a new design, they can not be changed. I am just going to leave those alone for now and see what happens.

ChristineK

Yes, I don't blame you for not deleting them! Most of the ones I had grouped text on were just created in the past week or two, so I'm just going to hide them and create brand new versions of them. But I'm sure I have some older products with grouped text that I've completely forgotten about, and those ones will just have to stay as they are.

Okay, I am so confused. When I used to add swashes for blooming elegant, I would just create my text in Photoshop ( I had the font on my machine) with the swashes that I wanted and then just paste it in the text box in the design tool. I thought that would work for Elizabeth but that doesn't seem to work for me. 😬

I am having the same issues..  I  just invested hours reading posts and I have not been able to get any of the swashes to paste either.

This is making me very nervous.
