Question for those of you who create foil invitations. Do you do the gold foil text in Photoshop and then bring it in? I'm not sure exactly how to create foil invitations.

You can do the foil in Photoshop for the choice of fonts but you don't have to. It will turn any text you type into foil so long as you put it on the foil layer. In this way you can have foil template text.
I did a mix. Non-template text I did in Photoshop for the font options and template text in design tool. All go on the foil layer and thus all are foil. Then other design bits on the regular layer.

Assuming you mean the REAL foil card types (not faux foil) you add your text in the normal way to the foil layer selecting the black 'filter'. This will then automatically create the foil effect re gold, silver, rosegold as per your selection.

I’ve been on Z for quite awhile and I don’t know why foul invitations are so scary to me. Thank you for taking the time to help.

The tricky part is adding images on the foil layer so you get the right view, but the only solution is to try all the different filter options till you find the view you like the most. Meanwhile you add the items you want to remain in color print to the 'front' layer (below the foil layer). Have an experiment for different 'looks', you will find it challenging but hopefully fun too as you discover new ways to get different results.
