Foil Christmas Card Design Question

OK, don't laugh. I have to make sure I'm doing this right. When designing a foil card, like a foil Christmas card, for example... do I add my text (text that I want to show up as foil) to both the foil layer and front layer, or just the foil layer?

You can add it to just the foil layer. Some designers add it to the front layer, too. Doing this can make the foil print stand out more. For instance, if your background color is dark like black or navy, you can add the text to the front layer and choose a color like light yellow or cream. This will make the foil be printed on a lighter color instead of against the dark background only. When working on a lighter background like white, some designers add the text layer to the front and make it black. Still, some just put it on the foil layer only. It all depends on the style and look you are going for.

Oh wow! Thank you @SJoy ! Now I have some decisions to make. My script in the design is a more narrow script in that it’s not extra thick. So it sounds like I may want to add the text to both layers. I’ll play around with colors. Thank you so much!
