Paper Placemats Discontinued?

Hi! I'm pretty new to Zazzle. Is there such a thing as paper placemats? I have a Thanksgiving collection that is being penalized in the new Marketplace area because it says I do not have this required product in my collection. I can't find it anywhere. When I click on the link to make the product it takes me to either the vinyl or fabric placemats. Both of which I have and are listed as Bonus Products. I found a topic that says paper placemats were discontinued.

Help?

Thank You!

Paper & Party Placemats

Thank you, but this path actually goes to the vinyl placemat. It says paper at the top but when you click on the link it takes you to the vinyl one.

@HeatherB looks like the only placemats available  under Crafts & Party Supplies > Party Supplies > Tableware > Paper Placemats create your own are the vinyl ones

To get your collection's placemats out of bonus purgatory  - change their department  in the back end to the Crafts & Party Supplies > Party Supplies > Tableware > Paper Placemats dept and they should appear in your slots

I like your term "bonus purgatory". 😄

Ok, I figured out how to force/trick it into adding a paper placemat to my collection.

1. Search for paper placemats created by someone else (there are lots)

2. Scroll down and click "create your own from scratch".

3. The link takes you to the "large tearaway paper pad"

4. Design your placemat and sell it.

5. When entering the product/listing details it will automatically list the category as "large tearaway paper pad". You can manually change it to party supplies/paper placemats but it made auto added "paper pad" to the end of my title.

6. Finish listing and post for sale. Here, under edit product details I could change the title from "paper pad" to "paper placemats"

7. Verified and YES! It shows up on the collection page. The required "paper placemat" spot has this product.

YEAH! I have been trying to figure this out for 2 days. It shouldn't be this hard.

How do you change "paper pad" to "paper placemats" when you Edit Details! When I try to edit the title, I can only change the words I actually wrote, and not the ones that Zazzle automatically adds to the end.

It wouldn't let me until after I had posted it for sale. I used the Edit Details in the Listing Tools Bar at the top of the page. Did you check the "I have the right..." box at the bottom? I wish I had a better answer for you. I've since posted 3 listings for paper placemats and it worked each time.

Yes, I did check that. But for some reason I just don't have the option to change the text that they append. I don't see the words "paper pad" at all. And I don't have any characters left to add "placemat".

I did a quick test by seeing if I could create a placemat from scratch using your title with "placemat" at the end. I couldn't use all your words, but I did manage to get "placemat" instead of "paper pad".

Here is what I input as the title

and here is the result on the product page:

I don't know why it isn't working for you??

I have managed a 'work around' a few times when I have encountered this problem. Try writing your title to be as long as possible. It seems there is a limit to the length of a title, and if "your" bit uses up all the available space, Zazzle doesn't add anything to the end of it. I don't know if it works with all product types, but it is maybe worth a try (I did it recently when I used the Invitation paper type for something that isn't an invitation).

I tried that on these, and it didn't work. Thanks anyway.

Today I used Jules' trick to blast away an incorrect designation where a baby shower postcard invitation was called a holiday postcard. As soon as I added "Postcard" to the end of my title, the "holiday" label disappeared. You should be able to do the same sort of thing with those placemats.

I think those tearaway paper pads used to be considered office supplies and have since been repurposed as placemats. But that repurposing hasn't made it to the Create Your Own menu. Sometimes going into somebody else's product and then scrolling down to the blank on that product page is the only way.

Tear-away placemats were discontinued a few years ago already. Best to just delete all the ones you have.

Don't worry about the paper placemats.  Just make the fabric or vinyl versions and set the "Marketplace  Department" as this:

Crafts & Party Supplies > Party Supplies > Tableware > Paper Placemats

Then your placemats will show up in the placemat spot in the collection and not as a bonus product.  However if paper placemats were discontinued a while ago then Z needs to correct it.  This is just a work around to make sure your products are included in the core collection instead of under bonus.  Sometimes a little finagling is in order until things get fixed or updated.  Also, this post is just a suggestion.

Ever since Zazzle dropped the Paper Placemates from the Dining area, I have been doing the following:

In the Create your Own - search for "paper pad" - this will bring up the exact same product from the Office area I think.

Create your product and Change the Category to :Crafts & Party Supplies > Party Supplies > Tableware > Paper Placemats.

I don't have many collections that have the required items, so do not know how this works in the OP situation.
