Instagram fully desktop compatible now

Just an FYI - you don't need to use a mobile device or a special browser that emulates mobile to post to instagram anymore. The platform still has it's drawbacks... like no hot links, but this is definitely an improvement.

There goes my excuse for continuing to ignore it! 😄

I'd feel free to continue if I were you... personally I just don't feel like I could keep up with all of the social network platforms out there, not even if I wanted to try.... I feel like I get the most bang for the buck that I'm willing to invest from Pinterest and Instagram and pretty much ignore the rest.

I tried to make a go at Facebook... but felt like it was going to be a pointless time waster if I wasn't willing to put actual $$ into it, like they were bugging me to what felt like every 5 min..

I like Instagram because I think I do actually get at least a little exposure there and it's got a pretty simple structure - so it's not a headache to figure out how and where to actually put things. I don't like it because it's a pain to post to though far less of one now. There's still no direct posting link from Z's desktop version - maybe that will change too?

The thing I don't understand about Instagram is if there's no link back to the product, then what's the point? Like how would someone find the product if they liked it and wanted to buy it?

You can still put in a description and put the link in there. It's just not a hot link... so the person looking would have to be interested enough to copy and paste it into a new browser window...

Ahhhh, well, that makes at least a little more sense now. Maybe I'll have to check it out, though honestly, I'm not sure it's worth the time. I think I created an account once, but heaven only knows which user name, email or password I used!

@Cat  You can add a link to your products on Instagram if you have a business account. You can create "shoppable posts" that have a link that customers can click on right on the image itself. I still don't know how to do it but I know it can be done, I have seen it many times already. https://blog.hootsuite.com/how-to-sell-on-instagram/

Good news @PenguinPower !

As @Cat points out, there is no link the post. But you can create a link in the bio section. I see a large number of artists having success with this, although I never know how much other outreach they have going (It's probably not  Instagram alone, that generates their sales). Anyway, I have been trialing a link to a specific collection. Anything I post on Insta, I first put in my Insta collection, so that anything posted can be accessed in that one particular Zazzle collection which is linked from the bio. https://www.instagram.com/internationalbirthdaycards

A bunch of us have shared our instagrams here in the forums, so anyone interested in dipping a toe in to the Instagram universe, can take a look at these other Zazzle accounts and maybe find a system that works. https://community.zazzle.com/t5/promoting/what-s-your-instagram/m-p/7411#M457

I also do Postcrossing!

What a great idea with an insta collection! Thanks so much! 🌸

I believe that you can only put links into 'stories' - and I think it's still just regular posts that you can make from a normal desktop now...

I use TinyUrl to shorten my Zazzle product link and then I put this short link in instagram product description. It can be memorized in case someone wants to go to the product. But I'm not sure if referrals work with this shortened link or are they lost.

The only way I know in which you can have several links, is using the link in Bio with a tool like 'Metricool', apart from writing non -clicking links in your publications.

I use campsite.bio for linking my instagram posts. It connects to your instagram to grab your post images. I just wish it had a grid format

I use link.tree for links to other sites but you can put links to products and a photo there!
