10 Best Print on Demand Companies of 2022 (websitebuilderexpert.com)

Zazzle makes the list at #9.

notice that CafePress isn't among them. 😉

It is, and I am betting (maybe with real money if I buy stock) that they can avoid the sad trajectory of CafePress because they are starting from a better place. Going public applies pressure to turn a visible profit and apparently they didn't, or at least not fast enough. So they did a bunch of panic moves that didn't help and now their stock is way lower.  Zazzle has a superior product right out of the gate and I think this will help in turning a profit (as shareholders require) especially with the increased profile that going public brings.

Zazzle's secret weapon. as we all know, is customization. I suspect that ease of customization is a downstream effect of their one-at-a-time design model. Every other POD is QuickCreate and nothing but. Zazzle poured everything into an exquisite design tool (a clipping mask!!!) that works best when products are made one by one. This lets the products be downright artisinal compared to the slap-your-design-on-everything model of the others. And there are actual artisinal products too, which none of the others have. And now they have branched out into staff Photoshoppers that will fix uploaded photos and paint your dog into a portrait and whatnot. It's miles beyond what any other POD had before going public and this could be what avoids the fate of CafePress.

This article seems to be directed to wholesalers....and then it shows you the Zazzle designs which, when used, will quash the activation of the Sell button.

yes, the article was written to target e-business, so it was rather odd that a screengrab of the Zazzle design tool with an icon (as opposed to an original design) was employed.

what an irony.

I don't need to read an article to know that the BEST POD is Zazzle 😋

For now, until they go public!

I think I'll wait before thinking negatively regarding this issue.

I'm with Leah on this one. Zazzle is hands down the best POD out there.

Good points, and if going public means movement on improving backend efficiency such that (for example), products don't take days or sometimes even longer to be listed for sale, that would be a boon. However, it is still worrying what may come out of going public.

Zazzle is still on the top of my list.  Every year I do a search, for new POD's, and waste a little bit of time poking around.  At a glance don't see anything on that list that fits my long term interests.  Granted there are a few big names that are out there that didn't make the list, but they all lack what Zazzle has;  customizable text fields, image replacements, and I could go on... but promised myself to due more and talk less this year.

Unfortunately, I ran across a less complimentary article that came out a few days later on May 5th at rigorousthemes.com.  I would imagine Zazzle's potentially going public has much to do with the increasingly competitive POD market.  Sigh.
