I just received a 1099-MISC for about $100 royalties from Zazzle Inc. However, I don't have a Zazzle account (or didn't before I had to post this question). The rest of the information on the form (name, address, last 4 of SSN) is all accurate.
I checked all of my email addresses, and have nothing for Zazzle. I checked all of my bank accounts and Paypal and there is nothing from Zazzle. I even just looked for the dollar figure to see if the payment/credits were listed under another name. Nothing.
Now the big concern is that someone is using my SSN. Does anyone know of any other avenue to find out what's going on?

@montysups
Throwing some ideas out here for you, since you now have an account and had to give your ss# when you signed up, the info should be for the same ssn#, in your account go to earnings>Payments>history, if you have received any payments from zazzle, they will be listed here with dates, amounts and type of payment. The only hitch would be if you might have used a different email/user name to login than what z has linked to the payments on file. This is really very peculiar. Did you (or someone in your residence using your info) have an account in the past that is still getting sales? You confirmed that you received the 1099 by mail at your address, correct name, etc. Since that is definite,the payments had to have been sent to your address, if checks were issued. My logic is depleted, this is definitely an issue for Zazzle to sort out on Monday.

When signing up just to post here, I did not have to enter my SSN when creating this account. Just signed up using my unimportant Google account.
I've asked everyone in my house, wife & 2 daughters. No luck. Heck, I'd be proud papa if one of them had done so.

I assume you've written to Zazzle for an explanation, right?

Is there an artist in your family? My first thought is of a child signing up with the SSN of the parent and selling Zazzle products using parent SSN because of being underage.
I also do Postcrossing!

My oldest daughter just started HS, so I did ask her if she'd ever played around with Zazzle and she looked at me like I had 3 heads. None of my kids would know my SSN anyhow (they don't even know their own yet).
Looks like I may need to take a look through her school accounts just to make sure. She is interested in graphic design (and writing) and I've been trying to get her to design stickers for fun. But she's a new teenager and can't be bothered to do much of anything beyond Youtube, Netflix, and sleep 😕

This is wild - I have the same experience and was just starting to investigate when I saw this post. I too received a 1099-MISC reporting that I had earned royalties of 105.23 for the year 2022. It also contains accurate info and was sent to my home address. I too have checked inbound accounts for any deposits received from Zazzle and there are none.
Really am not familiar with Zazzle but have done a lot of graphics work and thought maybe I overlooked something. After checking I am reasonably confident I have not sold anything on their site.
This is beginning to smell like a scam or at least a data breach. The tax implications are negligible for $105 but it is still alarming that they have my accurate info.
I will post this on the 'Ask a Question' section as well.
