Ability to download Zazzle in-situ images with transparent background

Can the Zazzle download feature include product mock-ups with different views of the product with transparent backgrounds—and additional items used in Zazzle’s in-situ photos (like mousepads with the mouse) each as a separate downloadable item with a transparent background?

That way I can use the download feature to enlarge the product, add my own background, and reposition items (like a mouse) so they don’t cover important parts of my design (like a monogram or my shop name).

This feature would make the job of creating cover photos faster and easier for designers. Creating cover photos is time consuming and reduces the number of new products that I can create.

Thanks!

This is an important addition to designers’ toolkits, because we would now have access to photos of the exact product that Zazzle sells—and not have to settle for photos of products that look close to the actual product, which is not ideal.

We used to be able to download the full-sized transparent PNG versions at a time when we didn't need it anywhere near so much as we do now, but then they stopped doing it, very likely because it made it so easy for thieves who now use screenshots. In other words, if no longer offering the bare images was meant to stop thieves, it didn't work all that well, though the thieves are certainly easier to spot.

I currently use the same method as @PenguinPower , which certainly does the job, but the initial work can sometimes take a long time, long enough that I rarely make cover images. We'd probably see more cover images in the marketplace if they went back to downloadable transparent PNGs.

Does your editing program allow you to save selections or make masks? I only select out the products once for any view from the in situ images I want to use. I save that selection and can thereafter just use it for each subsequent time I wish to use that same view.

Thanks, PenguinPower. That method is a time-consuming solution, especially given the thousands of products that Zazzle has available. And, unless the paths are created carefully and accurately, the quality of the resulting custom mock-ups is not optimal. The best, most time-effective solution is for Zazzle to allow designers to download Zazzle’s automated product mock-ups as transparent png files with no background items.

@PenguinPowerThat's what I do, too, with PSD files for each product (the ones I've done so far).

For those who don't know, Snuggle Hamster Designs does offer a Cutouts feature that serves this purpose. We've created masks for 343 product variant views so far which gets us to 46% of all products in our vast inventory having at least one cutout image available. You can download them as space-saving WebP files or PNGs.

This is a Premium agency feature. Basic users can at least get low res preview images with watermarks.

Hi @Jadendreamer13,

Thanks for your suggestion. I took note of this and will share it with our team here for a further review.

All the best,

You're asking Zazzle to make things "easier" for us, the designers? Good luck. 😄 It seems everything that has been implemented in about the last year has only made things harder and caused more work, from the cover photos to the new collections to videos. And I'm sure many will still say it's the economy but it seems to me the reports of sales slowdowns from many designers started shortly after these new changes came into place. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. As Barbara said, it was nice when we used to be able to save our images with a transparent background. Made things a lot easier.

I went to download a t-shirt design today, and lo and behold... transparent background! Thanks so much, Zazzle!
