Backpacks

If you've sold backpacks is it with names or without names? I'm curious cuz I know some mom's are careful about not putting their kids names on backpacks because of strangers. Just curious if anyone knows what sells more

Every backpack I've sold has had a name.

Personally I prefer apply just a good design Tenues Varicolored Fashionable Horizontal Lines Printed Backpack | Zazzle

It simply depends about your purpose

I don't know what sells more since I don't design for them (anymore) but if I started again I'd never put a child's name on something a complete stranger (and potential predator) could see, if that child was walking down the street.

Then again, I'm old-school and a mom of 7. Your mileage may vary. 😊

I figure it this way - if they don't want a name on it, they can simply take it off.... or write what ever they like in that space that isn't a name.

I agree. They can always choose to leave it blank. Or you could easily make a copy of the backpack without one.

I've sold 3 backpacks. One had a name on the pocket, and two had initials on the side panel. I tend to add a template for initials only,  because of the concern about safety from predators.

The ones I have sold have initials. I agree with everyone here that the customer can leave it blank if they would like to. You can put that for the text for the template field (i.e. "Name or leave blank").

This discussion prompted me to look at my backpacks. I found I have not sold any 😟. I thought I had at least sold one ...

Of the two I have published, only one of them has sold so far (just this week actually!). It was just an all-over type design, NO templates, though they could of course enter the Design Tool and do anything they want with it. But there's no little C on the Royalty report to indicate they did that, meaning they bought it as-is, no names, no monogram, nothing added or edited...

I have sold 28 backpacks where the design had names on them and 12 with monogram initials on them. I have no way of knowing how the customers chose to personalize my designs, just sharing the numbers sold for what its worth.
