Do you need a business license to sell on Zazzle? If not, is there a certain amount of sales you need to make to require one? I am thinking it will probably take awhile to make a sale as a beginner, so I don't know if I should be going through all the hoops to get one in order to sell on the Zazzle? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You are operating as a subcontractor on Z, they are the seller of the product. If you were physically selling the item yourself, as in buying or making the product, then selling it directly to the customer, for instance from a store you are operating, or from a place of business, then you would need a business license. You would be required to post said business license in a prominent place in your business location for the customer to see. So, from one who has operated businesses in the past, and is now a subcontractor on Z, the answer is no. (As long as you are not buying products, then selling them yourself..Also important to note that there are rules and regs about operating a business out of your home, which is another long diatribe....)

No - you aren't actually doing any manufacturing or selling yourself, on the Zazzle website.. what you get for your creative efforts are technically 'royalties' and 'referrals', so no business license is necessary, no matter what level of sales your store generates. The money is taxed. If you are here in the US, there's simply a line for it on your income tax form and it's added to your other regular income. If you are in another country, I believe the taxes are taken out prior to your money being sent to you.

You haven't specified which jurisdiction you live in. Where I live, my town, my county, my state and my country do not require a license for the kind of designing I am doing.
I also do Postcrossing!
