This means if you set black as your default color, they aren't showing in the MP. Don't know how long this has been out, just noticed it now. I used Edit Details - Merchandising Options to set mine to a different less-than-ideal color as that way they'll at least show in the MP.

Hah! When I noticed on the 16th these were sold out in the black edging so not showing in the MP, I changed them to the gray edge and added "NOTE: as of Aug 16, 2024 the black edge color that looks great on these is temp. sold out so I am choosing to show them with a gray edge for now." to the beginning of the description. And lo and behold, someone ordered a set today. With the gray edging. 😀 I'm a little stupified.
This is another good reason for Zazzle to have a running list of out-of-stock styles for designers, so we can change our merchandising options accordingly to keep our products showing.

@ColsCreationsCongrats! That's fab!
I'm debating starting an out of stock thread in the tips forum (can't think of anywhere else)
Small bath mats are OOS - change to medium
Flip Flops OOS - wonder if they'll ever come back or are they looking for a new maker?
Scented Candles - OOS
Uncommon Phone Cases showing as discontinued on co.uk but not discontinued on .com so who knows what's happening with those
These are the only ones I've come across but no doubt they'll be more out there.

That's a great idea. I've toyed with it myself but I don't have many products (around 500 right now) and am not a big seller so generally don't notice these things unless I see a forum post asking 'is X discontinued or just OOS?" and there's rarely a definitive answer from Z. Add to that the confusion over whether it's the whole product line or just a certain style option, and the back-end notices that don't seem particularly enlightening. And since posts can't be edited, it would be one long thread of "X is OOS", "X is back in stock", "X is discontinued", "X is back from another supplier" ... so people would have to scroll the whole thread to figure things out. I think a master-list off-site that is sortable and kept current is the way, but only Z has the info to maintain such a list accurately.
But, I think a user-updated thread, in the Tips forum as you suggest, is better than nothing so if you start one, I'll contribute with anything I notice.

I'm not a big seller either but I do like to make all the things (bit like throwing pasta on the wall and sees what sticks and a touch of ADHD)
I agree a master one by Z themselves would be helpful if it was kept updated but we have to run with what we've got. 🙂
Still dream of getting a Heads Up Bell Notification when products do go OOS - one can dream
