This morning I just got a handful of emails saying that I violated copyright rules of Zazzle by using certain fonts and images. The problem is, they are being removed without checking to see if I own the font or image. I bought the license/right to use the fonts I uploaded, and created the version of the font word myself, in Adobe Illustrator. For the images that were removed, I bought a license that allows me to use the images commercially. It is frustrating because an entire collection has been wiped out and other invitations, that I don't know which ones, because of incorrect information that wasn't checked by me automatically. The fonts and images are sold to be used. Is there any way my invitations and stationery can be put back up online and the system changed, so if there is a complaint about copyright, we are contacted to see if we have the license to use the fonts or images?

Those greedy corporate individuals, do we need to get a license to use these colors now? maybe we should create our own color names like "Pantone V" or "Crazy Phanton."

I mostly use the Zazz fonts to avoid this issue. I may occaisionally use a novelty font in part later.
I had a email stating an issue with my OWN artwork (a painting/photo created by myself, manipulated with a program which is perfectly ok to use commercially, I have replied to the email stating this, but no response yet. maybe after the hols I'll gain a response. 🙂

@KeegansCreationand all others who love Twain: You can use quotes from him and you can use his name just as long as it's old enough to be in the public domain. There are sites that tell you which is which. I have a poster with a quote from him that's sold a number of times without a quibble. This sort of thing may also be true of other such famous folk.
Another one to watch out for is Martin Luther King. I saw a lot of MLK in the marketplace, so I thought I was safe. I wasn't and had a product deleted. Another product was deleted where I noted the date of MLK's "Dream" speech, and I had to remake the product. I wrote to the MLK organization, telling them precisely what I'd made, and their lawyer wrote back to tell me to please go ahead and make such products, but Zazzle refused to accept it.

@Wildart That was the problem, though--using Zazzle fonts that were most likely put in the font list without quite enough investigation. Unfortunately, those fonts were very much favored by the wedding designers, so they were the ones most severely hit by it. I feel safe these days using Zazzle fonts because I suspect they have since double-checked all their other fonts for safety. It was a bad experience for them and for the designers.
