Does anyone have an idea what is considered a good purchase to view ratio on a product? To be clear I'm talking about the ratio between the number of views a product shows and the number of sales that product is showing when you look at any given product looking at the Quick Stats from the listing tool toolbar.
Mind you I'm thrilled any time I get a sale regardless... I celebrate and cherish every sale that comes my way.

All I can say is that my top sellers have a high number of views, but with one anomalous character that has nearly 171,000 views but only 20 sold. Logic says that number of views rises along with sales, but not always.

I don't think there can be a specific good ratio because that ratio will be dependent on how it is that a person came to view the product.
- I have a product with a very high number of views but no sales. This apparently happened because I put the species of tree in (it's a tree portrait) and it was appearing in google images when people searched for examples of that tree.
- I have several microbiology products that are highly specific and roughly every 3rd or 4th person who sees them will buy them. But they aren't seen that often. What's happening there is that such products won't be broadly popular (too niche specific) but the people who search for them specifically often buy because there aren't tons of options in the niche. Such products have a very favorable ratio while still having low overall sales.
- Then I have some products with high views and moderate sales. They got there by inching up in the MP and so being seen more often but unlike the microbiology niche there are also more options so they have more sales overall but the view:sale ratio is more like 10:1.

I like to see a sale for every 10 views. However, this can get distorted if Zazzle uses a product in one of its displays especially in the keyword category at the top of a product listing. I keep a pretty close eye on my top 500 products. If they start to produce less sales per view, I do take a close look and try to figure out why.
Like you i cherish every sale and love the serendipity of the market place.

I just did a review of my sales by Top 6 Orders and Top 6 Views. (Remember, the # of orders may be less than the #Sold, especially on small items like post cards and buttons that might be ordered in quantity)
My Highest ordered item made the top 6 views at #5. The first 3 Highest Views had no orders/sales

I just checked my own top 6 orders and top 6 views. All of the top orders had fabulous views, but of the top 6 viewed, only one of the top ordered was amongst them. Conclusion: Views don't necessarily equate to sales.

When I was a buyer for a chain of stores earlier in my 'used to work for someone else life" I used to use the standard formula to determine a product success / sell through rate AKA STR:
Number of products purchased divided by the number of them I sold then multiplied that x 100
So if I had 75 invites in stock and sold 55 of them in the given period of time I was examining I would take 55 and divide it by 75 and multiply that by 100 for a STR oof about 73%.
But in our case we have ZERO inventory (thank goodness for this business model) so it changes things and I can't use that formula. Bur I just realized: who the heck cares!!!! LOL More important is how long you've been on this platform and how much you've banked (how much you made) in that period of time. Isn't that what really matters to us? In some cases like myself the first year in business here when I did this part time I could have made a better living flipping hamburgers 🙂 but after my 2nd year things started to accelerate.
How has this platform worked out for you in this way? I probably should've asked that question instead.
Happy Mothers day to all

It's worked out relatively well for me, relatively because I'm a hit-and-miss worker on the platform, only designing when something inspires me and that I think customers might like.

Just had 2 Pickleball paddles purchased that had only been viewed 3 times and I am pretty sure 1 of those views was from me. Not sure how that equates in the bigger picture, but at least for now, I am feeling happy and forever hopeful. Best of luck to all!

My "conversion rate" is about 3 or 4 sales (cancellations not included) per 100 views. It's a bit of a guess, since I don't have access to total views per period.
