Reasons People Cancel Orders?

I'm curious what reasons people have the most for cancelling an order of non-paper items, or if that's something that anyone would know. It's been a bit slow for my stores but I did make a few sales lately, two of which gave me a nice royalty. Problem is they both canceled after about a week and a half. It does make me wonder if they didn't like something about my design after all or of it's something else entirely.

There can be a number of reasons, but we're not privy to them. I imagine Zazzle doesn't necessarily know either. In your case of those two cancellations, it's unlikely they didn't like the product since there wouldn't have been enough time for them to even receive it. Sometimes, people simply just change their minds. Maybe they realize they don't have the money for it, or maybe it's a gift for someone and they've had second thoughts about it. I've seen where people mistakenly ordered two of something when they wanted only one. I've cancelled an order from other retailers when I find a better price or when I realized buying something in the heat of the moment isn't the best strategy. Those are only a few reasons, but undoubtedly there are more.
When I was running my own business, I had one poor lady who had been collecting things in her cart, forgot about them, then ordered something for real, which meant everything in her cart was ordered. I gave her a refund, of course.
Cancellations can be disheartening, but we have to get used to them. We all have them, and I'll bet anything they aren't often because of the design, given they chose it to begin with.

My suggestion: If you see something cancelled, go back and review that product, make sure the template fields are set up, the image resolution is good, and that nothing looks cut off/there is enough image background to cover any size option a customer may pick. Fix any issues.
Then forget about it. Literally don't worry about it unless you see the same item cancelled over and over. Even in that case, it could have gone out of stock, customer just changed their minds, shipping time wasn't going to work, they found something else, etc. Just don't stress about it. 🙂 Especially since you don't have to field the customer service about it.

Some people just don't seem to know their own **bleep** minds; Laura from Christchurch, New Zealand, ordered three beach towels in October, then she cancelled and re-ordered later that same day. Ok, but then I wake up this morning to find she's cancelled again three weeks later.
Thanks a lot, Laura. 😠

I just ran a check on beach towels, thinking maybe they'd gone out of stock, which would create an excellent reason to cancel an order, but they're in stock. Too bad. I thought I could give you a perfectly good reason for Laura's indecisiveness.

I'm guessing that Zazzle is showing a sale as having been made when a customer adds the item to his or her basket, regardless of the fact the customer can remove that item later. I could be wrong, but that's my hunch.
Working from a small Scottish island and creating items that sell...

Hello!
I recently had a sale cancelled by someone I know in real life, so I did follow up to find out why. She had ordered a double-sided T-shirt, but when she received it, they had only printed the front. 😞 They said she could have it reprinted or receive a credit, so she took the credit. Unfortunately, this means I lost not only the royalty but also my referral. She thought I would keep it since they still (essentially) have her money.

In my case I had a Cancel Order because the case that was order was not black it was green so Zazzle printed it wrong they sent him another one and he is waiting for the new one to get there I am saying this because you never know how many OTHER were cancel because of a Zazzle mistake some people will not get you to resend another one in this case I am hoping he get what he asked for and is happy .I know this because he sent me a message from my store and we talked about it and I helped him get the numbers he need to call and set up a refund or reorder if he never messaged me I would never have known this because we are not told why.
