A user in the Instant Downloads conversation brought up a topic that veered away from digital, so I'm moving it into its own conversation. This is to allow digital conversation to stay focused while still allowing us to have the conversation.
The first half of the post can be found here, and the rest of the post is below.

Thanks Barbara!
If you press Done and we still don't have the Replace Tool, then are we creating another product. Guess my question is we won't know we have the tool unless we go through the steps you've mentioned above.

Indeed, that's exactly how I found out. Since then, I've used it successfully only twice. Both times, if I'm remembering correctly, had to do with positioning of the main image. I quickly learned we couldn't add text templates, which was the one thing I'd really hoped for.

Right now, it is not under the listing tools, it only shows up, after you edit and make a change to a product.
I posted this in another thread, about the replace product tool.
"Zazzle looks over all the products, before they approve or deny the changes. You can not change alot and it look like a new product, Zazzle will not approve those kind of changes. You can not add a new text template, you can not add a new placeholder image, you can not add a new design or any other new template, Zazzle will not approve those changes. Most of the time, Zazzle will not approve any changes, on new products you just published and older products, that have never sold.
You can change a placeholder image, but you can not change an actual design, you can change the year, you can change the size of text and the size of an image, you can straighten images and text and fix text typos. It's small changes like that, that Zazzle will probably approve, but it's not a guarantee, that Zazzle will approve all changes. If a customer is in the process of buying your product, Zazzle will not approve any changes, but you can make the changes later and submit for approval again."

Would you please allow this for me as well? I have a couple of small tweaks I would love to make. Thanks!

SAME HERE. I've been wanting to add a period punctuation symbol at the end of a tagline in quotes of MY MOST POPULAR PRODUCT theme so it's on a few items...and have no idea how I missed it but I did. YEARS ago, maybe it was intentional IDK. I only have EDIT, SELL. They tricked me because they DID carry over all my product details and I got excited for nothing haha.
I REALLY do not want to create a dup or replacement because of all the buyers I have on that item. Some other simple corrections don't bother me.

Thanks for bringing over this discussion. Whether it's tweaking an older product without wiping out SEO or a quick fix to a new product, this feature would be so helpful!

Another year later... and I still do not have the Replace Product option. I inquired awhile before that also via phone. Appears many other's still don't have it either. Don't understand why not, since there's been many other's who have had it and still do have it, I guess a few years now. Doesn't make sense no update on it all this time.

I do not have this option yet either. However, I've been told that even IF I had the tool, it would not allow me to fix template issues, which would be primarily why I would want it. Many of my older, first designs don't have templates to replace text as I didn't take the time to learn that feature. Now that I'm older and wiser, a decade later, I've learned a few things and templates are a must. So even if I was given the tool, without the option to fix templates, I'm still having to redo the entire design and republish. Hate losing the SEO info, but I guess it is what it is.

I think the reason Zazzle has not released it yet, is because there are still some glitches and issues with it and I assume Zazzle is still working on a fix for these issues.
No, you cannot add a (text template or image template, unless you already had the template on the product, when you first made the product) or even change a design, so the product looks different.
Until Zazzle finds a fix for this, after you use the "replace product" those products go in the saved designs and cannot be deleted and will not disappear from the saved designs after 6 months. I used it and I still have products from July 2022, that I cannot delete from the saved designs.
Here is the link, that outlines what you can and cannot do with the "replace product" https://community.zazzle.com/t5/general-zazzle-discussion/replace-product-rules/m-p/104488/highlight...
Since Zazzle has to look over all the products, before they approve any changes, most of the time Zazzle will not approve changes on older products, with no sales or new products. I find it's easier to just remake the old products, that were missing templates, that had no sales and to remake new products, that have no sales.
