Mine were down for awhile. Very few sales on some days. But the last few days they have really taken off. With a couple of sales for multiple items with the same design. I can't explain it but it is not unusual for me.

Zazzle's price increase seems to have clobbered my sales.
Currently on fifth day without a sale, whereas I could be confident of having a sale most everyday.

Very disheartening.

Harmony

No sales in the past 2 days which is unheard of

I have also received about 15 cancellations/returns this week

Harmony
Valued Contributor

make that 19 cancellations

sure is slow, had a couple of sales in last 2 days, but only one cancellation this month(normally have very few anyway)

Can't remeber prices increasing.. well like everything else I guess...

It's pretty much because we're in Q2, Sales Might took off around Q3-Q4, Also it's actually Depends on How good you are when it's comes to, Designs, Research, Choosing right Products aswell ))

Wildart
Valued Contributor

Well yes that is part of the story, being great designs etc, but if a wide range of creators are finding the same thing, then somethings up!

I hope sales pick up for everyone.... cos its such fun designing here.

My sales for May have fallen into the dumpster. Previous to this month, I was doing just fine though a tad slower than they were in years past, but May? Yesterday I made 78 cents and celebrated.

Actually, May is my second best month for 2022 so far. (Actually, I just checked and it is my highest $ month this year, second in #). I didn't have any sales until mid-month, but have been quite pleased with multiple sales of multiple items.

No you’re not imagining it, this month stinks! Last May 1st-26th? 187 sales. This May? 71 sales. That's way less than half!  What’s going on??

Everything is going up, Gas, grocery's, MY rent 140.00 more a month. Everyone has taken the opportunity to raise prices now, whether the really need to or not. Even the dollar store is now the 1.25 store mostly. I buy  a "fancy"  Mothers day. Card each year, last year it was around 5/6.00$  or so, this year it was marked 10.00$ Now how much more can it cost to print/ship the same basic card a year later, almost Double, no way. BS. So all things considered, I'm not sure when or if we will get back to normal sales.

I'm freshly back from investigating the stats for retail sales, which have risen by small bits for the first quarter (something I had noticed in my own sales), but here's what lies beneath the stats: Even people who don't ordinarily pay attention were brought up short by the quick increase in inflation, and so they spent on the things they needed and wanted, knowing the prices would continue to increase. Heck, we did this ourselves, knowing that if we wanted to renovate our kitchen, we'd better do it now. I suspect that the second quarter might show an overall slowdown as inflation creeps ever upward, and I think maybe POD's might be the first to be hit. Is this fact? No, it's just me watching trends and listening to the chatter around me.

One interesting thing is the mindset: People are beginning to stock up on foods that have long shelf lives, and the number of preppers has increased. Folks are getting the heebie-jeebies. Not good for pod sales.

My sales were way down for the month. Decided to lower my royalties on most products from 20% to 15% on 5/20 and since then have had a few more sales. Hopefully, things pick up soon.

MM Like yourself I have just lowered royalties from 19% to 16.9%. It truely pains me to do this but hope this increases sales! Zazzle itself must be feeling the pain also with huge discounts now like other retail outlets ! 🙄 Cheers Jilly

I was actually having a pretty decent May until a couple days ago - and unless the counter is off (again) - I didn't even have one view yesterday. I'm not one of those designers who have sales every day (I wish!) - but I do keep track and this is my best month of May I've had in 10 years.  But rarely do I go without views (so hopefully the counter is just down)

stats for views has not worked consistently for several weeks

I don't have the last 3 days of showing "Last viewed date". I hope it will be fixed soon, it looks like the work is standing still ... 😞

If it was slow when this thread was first opened it has stopped now. I am getting depressed after days with no sales. The thing that pushed me over the edge was a pink. Now not just no sales but sales taken away 😞   Just needed to vent.   Sorry.

Ouch.

I hate it when that happens. Your sales are hard won and then Hunter from Newnan, GA, decides to cancel that lapel pin order. Thanks for nothing, Hunter!

But yeah, things are tough right now. You've got a good number of shops and products though, so perhaps up your targeting of stuff that's sold and improve your marketing game? I suspect marketing is going to become much more important.

Well, as August approaches I remember a dip in "summer sales" was the Norm to some degree. But I am holding on to the idea of the holidays coming. I just need to get back in the saddle and prep my shops.

This July has been my worst month in the last 5 years.  Let's hope August picks up some.

I get the sense that Z is feeling it, too.  Seems there's more sales lately?

Now that July is over, I can officially say this is the worst month I've had in 5 years.  I hope August picks up. Fingers crossed.

Seems slower to me, too. 😒

I don't think so, sales do picks at this period of time every year, if sales are slower, you better double labor, target big Q4 niches and try to subniche down

Dear Maddy1,  I wanted to see what you sell in your store but can't get to it.  Clicking on your name gets me nowhere.

I think there might be Bug, Try again, Because When i click my self on my store, it directs me to my store immediately

I am still waiting for the day when I can say, "I have had very few sales on some days."  Right now I get excited when I see "some sales per month."  Last month I got 3 sales within less than 2 weeks.  Since then, I haven't had even one. I find it odd to have 3 sales (different items) in a row and then nothing for a long time.

No more sales for days,... 😞

Slooooowwwww

MadjackGG

This week has been quiet across the board for me (Zazzle, Redbubble, TeePublic).

And now I see I've had two sales cancelled today (yoga mat and a license plate sold August & September respectively), so sales are not only slow, they're going backwards 😡

<edit> I wish Zazzle would lock in orders and take customer payment much sooner than they appear to do. Other PoD sites seem to have much shorter periods in which sales can be cancelled. My Zazzle stores have more cancelled sales than all my other shops on other platforms.

Seems like the only movement I have seen in the past few days goes down. A nice referral turned pink for a $20 loss. I was so happy with such a big referral. I don't make many and when I do they are usually small. All in all like someone before me said Slooooooow.

This is the worst month I've had in 6 years.  And for the last two years, September has been good.  It's very disappointing.  Hoping this is not a sign of things to come.  Oct-Nov-Dec are usually my best months.  Last November was record breaking for me (though I always have low sales, so I'm sure that's nothing compared to what a lot of designers get).

Putting on my optimist's hat (which admittedly is looking a bit battered these days); the last few years, including this year, have been unusual and so it's a little difficult to compare this year to the last few years. But of course, there's no denying sales have diminished overall due to economic conditions and who knows where that will go in the coming years? However, hopefully the slump right now is a pause before the ramp up to the Xmas peak, which is something I've seen before, although it's normally happened mid-October for me.

October was my best month ever. December the worst since I started having regular sales. 20% of what I sold in october. TWENTY. 30% of what I sold in November.

I’m still trying to understand this…
